  1. Shane Bieber. Unranked as a prospect Clevinger unranked as a prospect Plesac unranked as a prospect. Civale unranked as a prospect It is hard to put too much stock in a prospect ranking when they miss so many. Cleveland's future is tied to those 4. It is good for them that they were not too concerned with rankings
  2. "According to Cot's Baseball Contracts, the Twins' estimated payroll obligation for 2020 is around $136.8 million, factoring in the $21 million that Donaldson will make and the $7 million that Sanó will now earn this season. The Twins' previous record for Opening Day payroll was $128.7 million in 2018." per https://www.mlb.com/news/josh-donaldson-impact-on-twins-in-2020-and-beyond
  3. Gate receipts are also shared. When your team raises more revenue through attendance increases, 40% or so goes to the other teams. No one has yet to show any recent team that has lost money. Expecting and demanding the Pohlads spend their own money on the team payroll when no team has spent the owner's money this century seems foolish.

  5. When does one evaluate an off season. Certainly not before it is over. Does the free agent busts the team does not sign but drove up the price up on count as a success? The trade that the GM did not pull the trigger on that would have bombed count when and how much? Things happen that people pan. Cuddyer leaving in free agency and the signing of Willingham Really a poor move when comparing the two. Ah, but the comp pick was the one comp pick that actually worked. 10 years later it looks like Ryan and company actually made the right choices
  6. They would make $50 off every person attending a concert. No way would that be possible for a 2 million profit for the host. They are not doing the promotion of the tour
  7. I would guess that there is a genetic component somewhere in the chain that effects vision. Those with the RCG combination see everything glowingly. Then there is OHF who see through a haze of black
  8. Source versus biased opinion. The Pohlads also sold of the banks quite a few years ago
  9. A couple of runs?-5 defensive runs is a loss. The question was do those shortcomings on the left side make it worse for Keuchel and Gonzales. Does your minus 5 become a minus 7 with 2 pitchers throwing pitches that get in that direction with great frequency
  10. Graterol can pitch until hill is healthy. That should get Graterol close to the 100-120 IP limit
  11. Sad to put it this way but http://www.espn.com/espn/feature/story/_/id/12880538/seattle-mariners-pitcher-felix-hernandez-sets-tone-team-whole-season
  12. The last time the Twins had 5 starters go the whole season was when. At 3 million Hill is an excellent gamble. With Homer Bailey I feel it is best to reserve judgement. Oakland found something and it worked. They fave the "financial flexibility" to do it.
  13. https://www.andrewssportsmedicine.com/news/new-tommy-john-surgery-alternative-has-potential-to-cut-rehab-time-in-half Had Hill underwent a full TJ his career might be over. He might be the first of many
  14. Hill had a repair, the others had a complete revision. The doctors are basically sewing the tendon back together. They may do a graft. 12 weeks recovery time has been reported as the healing time for the tendon, It will take time after that to get it limber for pitching,
  15. With that negative of UZR and DRS he is performing something horribly wrong. That wromg leads to more potential runs. With pitchers that put the ball in play that would not be a good thing
  16. Do you think the Pohlads have made 175 million in profit? That is what they put into the building of Target Field?
  17. Which one was the goof player, Odorizzi, Meyers, Manaea?
  18. I think left field on your fangraphs page means left field not the left side of the field. DRS then would be worse because of a whole lot of factors. fly balls, arm, etc.
  19. Europe is not America Could you please name a baseball team that has spent the owner's money for payroll. I see people post all the time about Pohlads should spend their own money for salary. Why should they do a different model from what has been done before. Baseball has always been about making someone money. The Wilpons used the revenue to pay their share of the Madof(sic, I forgot the exact spelling) There was 220 some million revenue for the Marlins. You think the owners aren't going cheap on the payroll to recoup their investment
  20. Lottery tickets come in many shapes and prizes. Some cost only money like Walker,How much money is correct is a mysterious game. Gausman gets a 9 million contract. A once top 20 prospect that never was. Then there is Wacha who gets reliever money after being a top pitcher for a winning team. Crappy pitchers like Porcello and Perez are signed. Some of these players must look at a contract Gibson and Roake got and use them as benchmarks for signing. That could explain why they are not signed when the Porcello types are signed
  21. The problem with trading trinkets is that someone has to like your trinkets more than you do.
