  1. Oh no! Hope you feel better soon and can make that trip!
  2. Did you end up making it to one of the games over the weekend?
  3. Fajardo was enjoyable to watch Saturday night, I appreciated his hustle and desire to take the extra base.
  4. The Good: The ballpark was amazing. It had such a nice feel, the people were friendly and the cost of concessions were far less than an MLB game. I think the ballpark fit around 10,000 people and I think the attendance was around 7,000. Most of the players were no names, but the fans definitely get behind their team. The players I did recognize were Seth Gray, Yunior Severino and obviously Brooks Lee. One player I hadn't heard of was a young kid from the DR Yoyner Fajardo. He had 4 hits and scored 2 runs and was aggressive on the basepaths, one at bat he dug for 2 right out of the box and slid in safe with a double. He also stole 2 bases, which was quite enjoyable. He may never make it to the majors but I became a fan of his. He plays the game the way I like, always looking for the extra base. The Bad: To say I was disappointed that Brooks Lee didn't get the start would be an understatement. He came in as a pinch hitter where he walked and then was caught stealing which really killed the little bit of momentum the team had. He ended up taking another walk in the bottom of the 10th. The 10th inning. It was ugly. A 2-2 game quickly became an 8-2 final due to 2 HBP, a walk, a fielders choice that ended with 0 outs. a sac fly, a single, a double, another walk, and yet another walk before they were finally out of the inning. The bullpen was wild and ineffective. The Wind Surge weren't able to get a run across in the bottom of the inning. What was a close guys quickly became a blow out and most fans were heading to the exit before the top of the 10th ended. My take: Great place to catch a game! I will definitely be going back and hope to see some of the names in the big leagues in the future.
  5. Yep it was pretty disappointing. I will say I was impressed by the leadoff hitter, Yoyner Fajardo, he had 3 hits including a hustle double. I doubt he is even on the Twins prospect radar but I definitely became a fan.
  6. Jax is becoming the 2023 version of 2021 Colome and the 2022 Pagan.
  7. To say the least being a Twins fan from Kansas can be really challenging. I've not been able to experience much of the fandom that the locals get but one nice perk is being able to drive 3 hours and get to see some of the Twins prospects this Saturday as the Wichita Wind Surge host the Arkansas Travelers.
  8. Along with the questionable pinch hitting decisions we've seen an abundance of.
  9. I really hope this offense stays red hot out west, if they can win one against the Dodgers that will be a small victory.
  10. He is definitely shining today!
  11. It isn't bad luck, it's the guy can't handle high leverage situations anymore. I'm okay with trying anyone including Pagan at this point.
  12. I worry Jax may be turning into a pumpkin now, blame it on bad luck but it seems to be more than bad luck nowadays.
  13. Brooks Lee in the MLB this season would mean this season is a failure.
  14. One of the common things in sports medicine is one injury leading to another injury; since pain in the shoulder can cause a change in the mechanics which can cause stress to another part of the body, it doesn't surprise me to read he has an elbow injury now that will require surgery. I've read that people say the shoulder and elbow are unrelated and that can't be proven. Soft tissue is a tricky thing.
  15. Hopefully Royce and Brooks will be playing a week from tomorrow when I'm at the game in Wichita
  16. Shoulder injuries many times lead to elbow injuries, "overcompensation". Trade will go down as a loss and you've gotta just move on.
  17. Yep, pitcher who was known damaged goods when they made the deal. Admit it was a mistake and move on and learn from the experience (wishful thinking).
  18. Maybe the booing incident will be the catalyst to a Correa turn around.
  19. Love Miranda, but this is the best move for the team. Miranda hasn't looked good defensively and despite an RBI last night, the hitting has not been there. Giving him some time in St Paul to work on his swing and defense will help him more than booting ground balls at 3rd and swinging at the first pitch in MLB.
  20. I wonder what it will take for some major changes, because after the last 2 years results and what we are seeing so far in 2023, this isn't working.
  21. Lewis is headed to Wichita on a rehab assignment https://www.mlb.com/news/minnesota-twins-minor-league-roundup-may-7
