  1. Guardians place Shane Bieber on the 60 DL today. I thought he would make a couple of starts before the trade deadline and Cleveland would pronounce him healthy and trade him for a large ransom.
  2. A great win today. They looked dead in the water after 8 innings today and won the game. First place in the division is nothing to be negative about!!
  3. Gardy also wanted Gomez gone despite being great in centerfield because he refused quit swinging for the fences and play small ball. Perhaps why the Twins brass lets Buxton keep swinging and flailing away.
  4. I can't wait to see Pagan close out tomorrows victory!! Good for Rocco, about time he tries to light a fire under the rosters ass. As a team they look like they are grinding out the dog days of summer, not June and atop of the division.
  5. I attended the Kernels game tonight (June 23). They looked hungover. Made 3 errors(if there was an honest scorekeeper) many bad at bats and poor pitching. A couple of homers was the only highlight. Marco Raya gave up a ton of hard hit balls and the following pitchers did not impress. Miller had a couple of decent plays at shortstop and has really nice hair. They scored 5 runs after the game was out of hand to make the score much closer than the game felt. This review written by someone that has a hard time following the batted ball........
  6. It's obvious that Buxton is still having knee problems. He will not be manning center field anytime soon. After last nights Angels game where he ran full speed twice he was lifted in the sixth inning with leg stiffness. I'd rather see him DH than not see him play at all. Taylor is fine in center, Celestino looks like a 'maybe' for next year or perhaps Buxton can be in center next year. I know I should be used to disappointment but damn, Buxton has the talent to be compared to Willie Mays, why can't us Minnesota Twins fans have our cake and eat it too?
  7. Sadly, the article sems to close to the truth to be satire.
  8. Yes, under the second deck overhang, it's also less steps to walk down from the vendors also.
  9. Josh Donaldson was supposed to start a re-hab stint today but his hamstring is still tight so he will be out longer than 10 days. I'm guessing his hammy was the reason he seemed to only run half speed when he was a Twin.
  10. Too bad we don't have poisonous snakes and alligators to get the full off course experience.
  11. Jake Odorizzi is out for the season after shoulder surgery. The Rangers traded a prospect for him in November and he will not throw a pitch for them in 2023 and will become a free agent at the end of this season.
  12. We do not know the status of Buxtons knee. Last year when Baldelli said 'day off' for Buxton it was when the knee had to be drained. He does not look back to normal when running. I think there is a lingering injury issue with Buxton and for some reason the Twins have copied the NFL's vague injury status updates. Remember 'Bi-lateral leg weakness' that took someone out for almost a whole year?
  13. Nuke, call me nuke. I'm am impressed with Gallo's defense at first base. Much improved over Sano's defense. He is growing on me. As Harmon Killebrew once said "what's better? A strike out or a weak hit ball to second base?"
  14. Did anyone else watch Buxton's running on the triple he hit today? He got there easily but his running was not like in previous years. He also was laboring with his breathing so I think his conditioning is behind 'opening day ' levels leading me to believe his knee or hip is still an issue. Taylor may be playing at more than replacement level all year.
  15. I bet the over in Las Vegas last month with the line at 78 1/2. I also bet them to win the central at plus 290, so almost 3 to 1. Buxton at 33 to 1 to win the league MVP. Moral of my post is to shop around if you're going to place a bet. I would take to over on Lopez, Ryan and Buxton. Pass on Correa to answer the question.
  16. I know this site does not talk about betting but I got 33 to 1 odds on Buxton winning the MVP in Las Vegas last month. He has the talent, Correa hitting next to him and competing with him at the team level, and the motivation to do it. Besides, the Minnesota sports teams are due........
  17. The rich continue to be the puppetmasters and the rest of us are on strings. Disgusting if it's true. Oh wait, goldilocks was for the Yankees so that makes it okay.
  18. He wants to go to a perennial world series contender. I think that excludes the Twins. A guy can dream though. A tad bit of flawed logic. If Ohtani pitches on Sunday and throws 100 pitches there is no way he plays the outfield for at least 3 days. So his salary should be a combined pitcher and DH.
  19. In an interview last year Theilbar stated that in his first go-round with the Twins he was pitching with an injury which limited what he could do. Now the injury is healed so he can pitch however he wants to. How old was Jim Kaat when he retired?
  20. I believe last years 'rest days' were days when his knee was too sore and swollen for him to run. I have Buxton pegged for 155 games, 48 homers, 135 RBI's, 30 stolen bases and the league MVP.
  21. Carlos said all the right things, did all the right things but in the end he did what's best for him and I can't blame him. Remember, he only came to Minnesota because he sees the ball well in Target Field. It was the springboard he needed for a better batting average and the big contract. I don't blame the Twins one bit for not matching $350 million. I wish him well.
  22. Does anyone actually think Falvey or Terry Ryan would come out and say "the Polads have me on a tight money leash so we have to bargin shop for player help"? We will never know how profitable the Twins are or aren't and it is easy to spend someone elses money. When Falvey first was hired I thought he did little free agent spending because of Mauers overweight contract. I understand not wanting an overweight contract but if that's todays market and they are not going to participate in it they need to stop trading prospects for pitchers like Gray and Lopez.
