  1. Which website has the best analysis of the Twins 2014 draft? Outside of Twins Daily of course.
  2. Regarding the Grant Brisbee analysis - funny but who has a serious analysis now of the Twins' draft picks, we all need that now, don't we? Some vigorous discussion should be forthcoming I would think.
  3. Regarding on which minor league pitchers should be called up - Isn't much of that tied in with contractual status of one kind or another down the road? And who out there can explain all of this to us in a cogent and understandable manner? I believe this would be of benefit to all readers and posters and it applies to hitters as well.
  4. And this begs the question - what does the pitching staff look like?
  5. Someone please explain the buying out of MLB draftees from their college commitments, that is a concept I do not understand. Is that really required by the colleges if an athlete signs a letter of intent to accept an athletic scholarship? I'd like more info on this subject.
  6. I have followed major league baseball all of my life and correct me if I am wrong on this one - forty to fifty years ago any starting pitcher doing as poorly as Correia would have already been jettisoned for some AAA or AA pitcher that might pitch better than he is currently doing. Even the Twins did so a few years ago with Marquis. What is the difference now in the way the Twins are handling Correia? I just do not understand it especially when the Twins are still very much in the playoff hunt, what am I missing here?
  7. As I mentioned previously this lineup is perfectly "competent" for an organization that is willing to settle yet one more time for a 90+ loss season, isn't that getting just a tad old?
  8. A roster filled with "perfectly competent" players is the main reason the Twins have managed to have three straight +90 seasons in a row, if that practice continues expect much more of the same.
  9. Call me on this one but I think I have read that the Twins do not consider Polanco a good bet to play shortstop at the MLB level. If that is so why do they have him playing that position this season?
  10. Frankly I am completely "underwhelmed" by the prospect of Fuld's return, how about the rest of you?
  11. "Good" at AAA is a lot different than the same term in the American League and besides the MLB salaries will never be eaten by ownership, the Pohlads simply do not operate that way.
  12. Somehow I am not the least interested in Fuld's return, anyone else think otherwise?
  13. I have been worried about how he would perform since the day he was signed and I would imagine many others were also just from judging his trace record. Sign in, please.
  14. ^^^ Nunez, Fuld and Parmelee on the 2015 roster - let's hope not unless the organization is planning on yet another 90+ loss season.
  15. Why were the Twins so reluctant to pick up Bonifacio? He would be a perfect fit for them and cheap to boot. But now I'd be willing to bet they will just ride with Hicks and Fuld when he comes off the disabled list, what other decent options are out there realistically?
  16. Will the front office rely strictly on their own judgment with Turner versus Gordon or will they turn elsewhere? I certainly hope the latter as I do with all other potential draft choices. I shudder to think of simply relying on Twins' scouting employees, don't all of us?
  17. May I expand this thread to what other players we picked with our first one when other better options were available? I am thinking Chris Parmelee for sure, any other that just jump out?
  18. In the endgame why did the Twins take Revere as their first pick? I would imagine that many players taken after him in that draft turned out to be far more astute choices, am I correct or not in that assumption?
  19. Could someone please explain the underslot/overslot situation with the MLB teams plus the rules governing them or direct us to a primer about it.
  20. ^^^Please define "ready to roll" with the two pitchers mentioned. Does it mean they can be called up or does it mean they will be effective? I have serious doubts about the effective part for either of the two just yet especially in the case of May.
  21. I sure hope they teach Oswaldo Arcia to "go the other way", that will certainly take away the sting of letting David Ortiz leave.
  22. Williams or Musial not even mentioned! Unbelievable I'd say.
  23. orangevening - are you really serious about what you say about Olbermann's mention here? Please advise. Or is this some silly remark that is going over all of our heads?
  24. And Vargas too, the ultimate Big Papi clone! Buxton, Sano, Vargas, the ultimate new age murderers' row. Look it up if you do not get who I mean by that.
  25. Santana right now should not even be considered for outfield play, he's a kid trained as an infielder, don't mess with him in this way, please.
