  1. And get this - I could hardly believe it today when Dick Bremer stated that the two Chris's (Colabello and Parmelee) are two of the most interesting stories on the Twins in a long, long time. Or did I dream that one liner from a broadcaster who has been around now for a good long while and should know better than to spread pap like that around. A simply incredulous statement I'd say, trust other listeners will agree. Sure I realize the broadcasters have to sell the product but cannot they be a little more intelligent and resourceful about it all? I do not think that is too much to ask, do any of the rest of you think so also?
  2. And from a managerial standpoint why would Guerrier only pitch one scoreless inning and then Fien put into the game. Wouldn't the prudent thing to do here would be to save Fien for the next game when you might really need him in a meaningful game? I am confused to the nth degree on this one.
  3. How do the majority of posters think about who and who should not be discussed in terms of "prospects"? I'd like to see some sort of consensus on this topic.
  4. Seth, surely you jest concerning Roberts. Great top of the order guy to be sure but at what low rung classification, certainly not at the MLB level. Why is a player of his low potential even being discussed anyway? Let's talk about real prospects here please not suspects.
  5. To me there is way too much enthusiasm in this thread over Parmelee or any of these types which the roster abounds with that are mere journeymen. And also way too many of those types holding down regular spots that will ensure yet another 90+ loss season. Yet there seems to be no move toward making a decision to either cashier this season or admit the franchise is rebuilding. I simply do not understand this attitude by either ownership or the managing of the team on the field, does anyone else?
  6. While it is a nice thought I do not think any trades at this point should be done as a courtesy to the player(s). The Twins can use any kind of prospect if only a middling one if and when they deal any of the veterans currently on the roster.
  7. While discussing whatever scenario Minnesota Twins management is implementing or not one thing stands out for me. It was promised by ownership that once Target Field was up and running more ownership money would be give to management to right the ship on the field. That financial outlay has not been implemented as promised. Why or rather why not?
  8. Frankly I do not think Twins' management recognizes the difference, do any of you?
  9. With the way the team is now playing and being managed "muddling through" and "muddled mess" is EXACTLY the same thing, how can anyone draw the conclusion differently?
  10. The real problem here is they have way too many players that contribute to 90 losses year after year don't they?
  11. Simple stuff here as regards the two - Suzuki can field, Pinto cannot. With many young pitchers soon to be in the rotation in years to come a prudent organization opts for Suzuki.
  12. USNMCPO - Halsey has been gone for a very long time now so welcome to the club of "old-timers" like me who still remember him. And do you remember who the first announcers were in 1961? I sure do, tell me without looking it up.
  13. ^^^ Crapforks, how do you watch the opponents announcers? I thought they were blocked out in Minnesota.
  14. ^^^Jokin - I believe those are Eastern time zone times so it will be 1 & 6 PM in Minnesota, correct?
  15. Sam Morley, thank you for your help, I will try to navigate as best I can. Enjoy your weekend.
  16. I read the box scores daily but now how does one get to the team websites on the www.milb.com website?
  17. Second request on this one if you will please.
  18. According to what I have seen Burdi (Louisville) and Curtiss (Texas) are the only two Twins that were drafted that are playing in the College World Series this weekend. Am I correct in that and can a moderator keep us up to speed on them, please.
  19. ^^^Sam Morley, did you get to the official affiliates' sites through www.milb.com or another way, lest us all know please.
  20. Good question about Wimmers, perhaps he is only a relief pitcher prospect and not a starter, what's wrong with that as long as he is effective at any level. Glen Perkins comes to mind just for one example.
  21. Theo is the winner in a cake walk I think.
  22. As in past years Dan Barreiro has started a sarcastic goal for the Twins or one of their players to reach. In this instance it is the drive for 35 RBI by the Twins erstwhile first baseman to reach. No, not by the All-Star break but for the entire season. Is it doable or not? And does the goal have anything in common with the Twins position in the standings in the American League Central Division? Just asking a rhetorical question here.
  23. Yes, Morales may be a good player but will he necessarily put up good numbers this time around? No way to guarantee that one bit, for example - is Joe Mauer putting up good numbers this year? We all know the answer to that one.
  24. ^^^frightwig is 100% accurate in his remarks here in my mind, once again smoke blowing by Twins' management, how many of us will swallow all of that nonsense anymore? Can't they please get serious about cobbling together a decent team instead of all of the "window dressing" machinations? It is way beyond tiresome to have to repeatedly suffer through all of this drama all of the time.
  25. Excuse me for commenting on my own comment but cannot someone help us out here, please!
