  1. We can't just sign prospects win the extra money because there'a a cap for international signings and draft spending. However, if we use the money to squire better prospects when we trade ( Willingham for b-level prospect vs. Willingham +10mil for a-level prospect), we could use our excess money to get better prospects.
  2. Parmelee should be in right, not hicks
  3. Revere got a better return and he was the less valuable player. It has to be revere
  4. Texas is contending. They might want to fill ml needs more than they would want to get prospects
  5. Good for teams, bad for players
  6. Isn't Slama exposed? I would take a flier on him if I was another team. He's as major league ready as they come an costs you nothing
  7. Even if Clement isn't going to catch, Butera is probably going to be nontendered
  8. If Oliveros I moved to the 60-day Dl to clear a 40man roster spot could he be drafted in the rule-5 draft?
  9. Oh here it is: http://sports.yahoo.com/blogs/mlb-big-league-stew/bud-selig-says-planning-retiring-2014-really-means-144705496--mlb.html After 2014? Yay?
  10. Did i see something about him retiring after this year?
  11. This is just pathetic. Shame on you, Marlins.
  12. This signing doesn't mean anything. They're giving themselves a bit more minor league depth. That's it. Doesn't have anything to do with Butera.
  13. What about Trevor Plouffe? Are you implying trading him for Bauer straight up??? Yes. 10 Trevor Plouffe's couldn't bring back Bauer.
  14. If you promote prospects up to the upper minors, you increase the chance of them stalling out in AA. Sano is doing very well but he also has many things to work on. He's unrefined. He still strikes out a ton and plays raw defense
  15. Stop saying that Shields won't be valuable because we won't be competing. If we aren't, Span (most people think is the center of the package) won't be useful easier.
  16. Whatever they do the twins should be paying more so that they don't have to give up as many good prospects
  17. What teams' players are considered in the upper midwest player of the year?
  18. When people say only a few will ever make it, it gets me thinking. In the top 10, there are a few who will certainly make it. Hicks and arcia could probably be 4th outfielders right now. Gibson will make it unless his arm falls off. How much would it take or Sano to not make it?
  19. The twins can be cheap and maybe they don't want to eat whatever remains of his salary. It might look better for them if they simply don't rehire him rather than fire him. There was already enough change to send a message. Also, since Gardy has been around for a while, maybe they legitly want to give him a chance to prove he belongs in his job.
  20. Was redmond ever actually in our organization as a coach or was it all rumors?
  21. Just goes to show why you don't pay big money for coaches or managers
  22. Since the twins didn't renew the contracts of Gardy or Anderson, I'm assuming following another 90-loss campaign they would be let go. But what about an 85 loses? .500? Or does he have to win 85 games to keep his job?
  23. There were 630 pitchers drafted in the 2012 draft. That 22 more than all the other positions combined and an average of 21 pitchers per team. We drafted 24 pitchers...slightly above league average...and we drafted a lot of relievers, including two closers from the same college. Thing is, we drafted 35 pitchers in the 2011 MLB draft. So when listening to the Twins brag about how they really went pitching heavy in THIS draft, I was like, huh? They probably meant they drafted a lot of pitchers in the early rounds
  24. What are the chances that Gardy and Anderson will be back for the 2014 season?
  25. Pass. At this point any of the AAA pitchers the twins called up last year have more upside and cost less.
