  1. If a player is truly DTD then don't DL him. If he is butera or some other bench player, then DL them if they are going to miss even a few days. Since they are so close to replacement level, when if they play at 90% that provide basically the same value as a tripple a player. With a starter, I would say if they are going to miss at least 7-10 games, I would rather DL them and have them get fully healthy and rested. Span was a unique case because avoiding the DL might have helped his trade value slightly
  2. The pen a joke? its actually been pretty good this year. But i do want to see butera pitch
  3. When a high draft pick starts producing incredible power numbers in the majors, it isn't a fluke
  4. What? Most players playing non demanding defensive positions need a day every week or two. infielders (not first base) and catchers need more
  5. They are different types of players. Plouffe has more power and a lower BA. since he was a middle infielder with a strong but erratic arm i think he will have at least average defense. He has a stronger minor league track record and He was a first round pick so he does have good tools
  6. To be fair they drafted 2 decent looking college starters who both got injured (gibson and wimmers)
  7. The 3 hole is supposed to be for your best hitters and your best hitters are not the ones who swing the bat just to swing the bat. Would you rather have Mauer switch to Delmon young's plate approach?
  8. capps, span, perkins, nishi, and carroll all have options for $500,000 or below
