  1. He better be able to stick at catcher, because that's his only chance to make it. He's got decent hitting numbers, but not anywhere close to be able to profile at another position.
  2. Bryce Harper used to have those types of problems too. I've got a lot of confidence that Buxton will figure all of that out.
  3. I don't understand the doubts about Buxton. The only thing that has slowed him down are somewhat fluke injuries. A career minor league .301/.383/.489 from a high school guy from rural Georgia seems pretty good to me, especially with elite defense and speed. There's a reason he's been a top 3 prospect for years now.
  4. There's about a 95% chance Leidner begins the season as the starter. A little disappointing, but at least it looks like he can be mediocre instead of really bad.
  5. Show Iowa some respect.
  6. Nice win. I didn't have much confidence early when they ran on 3rd and 7 and 3rd and 11 on their first few drives.
  7. I'm really optimistic that this year's team can be one of the top 5 offenses in the AL and hopefully get in the 175 HR range.
  8. Then it's a good thing there's plenty of room for Buxton in Minnesota.
  9. I totally agree. Especially when Danny Santana can be the 4th outfielder, but Benson should not be on an opening day roster, even if he goes all Hicks on spring training.
  10. I really doubt that one of those bullpen guys will open the season with the Twins.
  11. I've read that he's fairly raw (I know it's shocking to read that a freshman quarterback is raw), and that he will probably redshirt. Leidner has shown some progress, but I'd rather see Demry Croft or Green get a shot.
  12. I'm looking forward to the day when the Twins bring in guys from the bullpen who aren't described as "he's got a good low 90's sinking fastball and a nice changeup." I want to hear "he's got upper 90's gas with a wipeout slider."
  13. I love listening to interviews that he does after games. He seems really driven to be great, and he seems like a great guy too.
  14. I'm hoping for several 40 and 50 HR seasons, so I'll predict an 8 year, $225M contract.
  15. I had the same reaction as Seth when I saw what Lawrie's return was. I have moved on to being in favor of staying where they are with the current plan and seeing how Sano looks in the outfield. Now on the Lawrie trade, what is the upside for the A's trading him right now? Because if it's to open up playing time for Jed Lowrie, then I really question the move.
  16. I think it would probably be better to give the athletic 23 year old a shot out there instead of an ageing Mauer.
  17. I disagree on the importance of adding another starter, especially on a mediocre one that would be received for Plouffe. I think Plouffe would probably only net a reliever with some upside.
  18. Yeah it's just totally unfair that Park gets paid $3 million a year to play baseball. You do know he's got a family to feed, Terry.
  19. Yeah that makes sense. I assumed it would just be easier to write back in Spanish too, but I wanted to know what others meant when they said it was odd that he did so.
  20. Looks like we've got a controversy on our hands. What is the truth behind Randy Rosario choosing to write his answers in Spanish? Or was it even Rosario writing the answers at all!?! And how does LA Sports Management figure into this!?! Let's get some answers!
  21. I'm looking forward to seeing what Randy Rosario can do next season. I really like the Liriano comp that he had. Let's hope he can get to that level eventually.
  22. Sounds like an experienced/old version of Cameron Booser.
  23. Do people really think they'll beat Iowa? Just for reference, Minnesota got shut out by Northwestern, and Iowa beat Northwestern by 30...
  24. I'll admit that they have looked better since Kill retired. And if they do beat Iowa, I highly doubt it would be by a lot. Iowa is a lot better than they get credit for, especially by casual fans.
