  1. Wow 10 HRs already for Palacios as a 20 year old SS. Am I getting ahead of myself when wondering if he could start showing up on Top 100 lists after this season?
  2. Kyle Wright has upside too. I don't think any analyst has him projected as just a middle or back end starter. There's a reason he's top 3 in every ranking.
  3. Castro is known as a good defensive catcher, so I'm not sure what you're going for there. As for the offense, Castro is striking out less than usual for his career, but he's also got the lowest babip of any of his full MLB seasons so far. I see staying near 100 OPS+ being realistic for him.
  4. Gibson's pitching, especially his curveball, was the highlight of the game for me. On the negative side, the Twins offense is continuing the habit of making some mediocre starting pitchers look really good.
  5. I don't think it's close to time to send Buxton to AAA, but I do agree Granite is the call up if an injury occurs. He's in a really good stretch right now, hitting .390 in his last 10 games
  6. There's also the option of making minor moves this year (Jason Vargas for a prospect in the 10-15 range or something like that) and then adding pitchers in free agency to surround a top of the rotation pitcher in Santana for 2018. As long as the Twins are within a few games of 1st place or the wild card in late July, I would not be in favor of trading Santana.
  7. Unless you want to give up the farm for Gerrit Cole or Chris Archer, Santana is likely the best pitcher on the market, factoring in that it's just a few months of Darvish.
  8. I think you're undervaluing Santana. A top 50 prospect plus another high upside prospect is more like the return Santana would get. A guy like Mejia, who was a 100-150ish type prospect isn't close.
  9. Jermaine Palacios continues to impress. He's hitting .327 with 8 HRs as a SS at 20 years old. His trajectory is a little similar to Felix Jorge on the pitching side. Both really struggled their first time in Low-A, but came back strong their second time around.
  10. I thought the same thing. The pen already has 4 lefties, and I'd like to see Busenitz, Hildenberger, or Curtiss get a shot.
  11. And the worst ERA in the AL. Lately, they either win, or they lose by 10 runs.
  12. Jorge Polanco is 15th in the MLB in fly ball %, and he's surrounded by power hitters on the list. Is this a problem? To me, he seems to hit a really high number of pop ups and weak fly balls for a guy who isn't a HR hitter.
  13. You can say this with most minor league starting pitchers, but I think with Eduardo Del Rosario's K numbers, he looks like he could project well to a bullpen role if starting doesn't work out as he moves up the ladder.
  14. People said the same thing about the Royals.
  15. I was encouraged seeing that the Wings scored 10 runs. Then I read that most of the damage was done by Tommy Field and Matt Hague.
  16. I'd go with Wright, mostly due to the combination of much lower risk and quicker to the majors.
  17. Good to see Byungho Park back playing and finally having a good game. Hopefully he can have a good month and replace Vargas as the 1B platoon and DH.
  18. Good article. It's a whole lot more fun watching the Twins play well, especially with a lot of the key contributors being younger guys. Hopefully the pitching staff will go this way too with Berrios and Mejia and when the bullpen prospects get their chance.
  19. Kyle Gibson's start doesn't encourage me much. The thing he's supposed to be working on is attacking the strike zone. I wonder how many of those 10 K's would turn into even more walks if he were facing more disciplined MLB hitters.
  20. You saw Berrios throw 101?? That must have been the same radar gun that used to be at Kauffman Stadium.
  21. And with him getting that start after not pitching for 2 weeks or whatever. That sure seems like a great strategy to give your team the best possible chance to win.
  22. Or give Nik Turley a shot. What could they reasonably be hoping for from Wilk? A 4.50 ERA by way of smoke and mirrors for a few starts is probably the ceiling.
  23. And with Berrios sitting at AAA with a 1.13 ERA.
