You are correct sir - just did the math. Symptomatic failure....

We are in agreement - I just was saying, this guy probably thinks he has more to offer than a part-time role. He wasn't great out there, but he was no joke either. One last edit - I've always loved the way the Twins would bring Oliva, Carew, Killebrew to spring training or other team affairs. It's important to maintain the organization's DNA to have exemplar Twins still involved. Torii would be a welcome addition to this tradition.

Dick and Bert are making it sound like it's the Twins or nothing, and that he's undecided on whether to continue. Not quite what I had understood the situation to be...

I expect some sort of vortex to form with Butera at the plate and Fryer behind it....

You know you are middle aged when: You watch the Royals, and aren't shocked to see them good, remembering Brett, McRae, Saberhagen, etc. Really, that was 20 years ago??? Amazing.

Mudcat, can you blame a guy for wanting to play? Given his season, he probably believes he can has as good or better a season next year, and for a 40 year old, he did pretty well. I think he'd be a nice bench player, 3-4 games a week, leadership and intagibles. Ironically, his numbers would probably be as good if he accepted such a role. Coming back to the Twins this season was the perfect situation, given the state of our 2014 outfield. Torii probably sees the writing on the wall: Hicks, Rosario, Buxton, Arcia, Kepler. Not exactly Schaeffer, Mastrioni, Wilingham. He'll probably find someone willing to promise him a starters role. Just hope it isn't TR.

Really, IMO we already made the playoffs. ESPN mentioned the Twins tonight, and in a good way. Winning it all, or at least the WS, is all that could be better.

Yanks clinch a WC berth - let's get 'em! Reminds me of WAAAYYY back in the day, the North Stars had never won in Boston Garden, and suddenly they pulled off a best of 3 series in the Gahden after 20 some years of futility. The Wild have never lost in Boston, or maybe once. Time to turn the tables.

•a winning record •10+ wins •ERA under 4 •near 200 IP Who or when was thew last starter drafted and developed by the Twins to pull that off for the Twins? Radke pulled it off in 2004. Last time?

I gotta say, I L O V E the way Molitor uses his bench - won the game tonight.

Looks like Torii took an elbow to the cubes there
  16. Monkeypaws
When is the last time the Twins had that, along with 3 guys in the 20s?

Got a movie idea for you: White Guys Can't Run. Edgy film shot in Minnesota....

Duffey is hanging that curve tonight - just did it again to Almonte. Poor lad is tired
  19. Monkeypaws
    Ahh thx.

    Is that streak still ongoing?

I think I'd trade any of our young studs for Lindor. He looks to be a generational talent.

Been mulling over this thread.... AL MVP, no way. However, what Hunter has provided this season is leadership - if you have ever worked in an environment with an exceptional leader, you will know what I mean. He provided something that has been missing from this team for a while. His late surge is just another example of that.
  23. Monkeypaws
Man Buxton just looks loose and relaxed up there now. I tuned to see his single, now the dinger. I think we are starting to see the player this young lad will be.

    Grey scrag - dude's 40.

It's all chemistry - it's the Torii factor. They just wanna dance. Logic has no place in the world of pro sports Jimmer.
