  1. I don't remember saying that...why is everything an extreme one way or another around here?
  2. My post was in response to birdwatcher...not Mike. Mike asked him for an opinion and his response was 'I don't HAVE an opinion about it. I'm not qualified to have one'. That comment is a way to say Mikes opinion wasn't valid over the Twins' decisions because the Twins are qualified. Of course, after saying he didn't have an opinion he went on to give an opinion anyway that, of course, supported the Twins' decision. So I wonder, if that's the kind of response he gives, on what topics in here does he think he's qualified to have. The man goes around slamming any opinion that differs from what Twins management does.
  3. You mean in their final mock drafts? By people paid to try and predict what teams will do. I could be wrong, and please correct me if I am (cause it's about the truth), but I don't remember Correa being that high up at this point last year.
  4. If you have no opinion, and if you don't have an opinion because you aren't qualified to have one (as YOU say), then why are you even on this site discussing anything to do with the Twins? You could say you weren't qualified to have an opinion on practically any topic on this site, couldn't you?
  5. It's Zimmer, johnny. Kyle Zimmer.
  6. I don't think many saw Correa being picked by Houston #1 last year
  7. amazing....just amazing...do we have a DH...one that actually hits well and for power? Do we have a 3B? I'm not saying Sano should be here right now, but he sure as heck shouldn't be in A+ ball still with the way he's hitting. The defense of the snail approach to promotion is sometimes beyond belief. You can nitpick anyone's game and find flaws and reasons for non-promotion. Few players are the whole package.
  8. I don't think so...if you read his previous post, he clearly wondered if I was thinking of age (which I wasn't ) and that it was smart the Twins weren't. edit, that part of his post is now edited.
  9. I was just providing the quote. I'm glad he's gone, myself.
  10. What constitutes rushing in your opinion? This is his 4th season in the minors. He's not in AA yet. What is rushing, exactly?
  11. I'm not looking at age at all...I am however looking at the obscene numbers Sano keeps putting up and wondering why AA hasn't happened yet. I don't think I'm alone in wondering about that. On a side not, Wil Meyers going into 2012, was ranked as the 28th prospect.
  12. ' Twins pitching coach Rick Anderson spoke with someone in the Pittsburgh Pirates organization during the offseason and told them he thought Liriano would "prosper" in the National League because those hitters aren't yet used to Frankie's sweeping slider.' 1500espn.com Mobile
  13. How long have the Pirates and Royals been drafting high and hoarding prospects? :-)
  14. Before the start of minor league play in 2012, Machado had just finished playing playing A+ ball and headed for AA (after ONE season in the minors). He was the 11th ranked prospect in baseball by Baseball America. In August 2012 he was in the majors. Before the start of minor league play in 2012, Sano had just finished playing rookie ball and was headed to A ball (after two seasons of ball). He was the 18th ranked prospect by Baseball America. He still isn't in double A.
  15. Can extend that to the pitching side of things...so proud of their throw strikes at all time, no walk policy while discarding the whole batting average, and slg% against. The last part is an exaggeration of course, but I've never seen a organization brag so much about how few walks it gives up while ignoring the fact that there's a reason for that. The teams are pounding the ball instead. I doubt there is a veteran team out there, or really any team, that fears getting behind on our pitchers. Always going to see a hittable pitch.
  16. Yeah, I get that, but Parmelee was drafted as an OF and played OF a lot in the minors. Something close to 300 games.
  17. No, I wasn't...I mentioned him in regards to dropping payroll, along with Ryan, but a complaint about one thing is hardly a vicious anti-Pohlad rant. If you have something to show instead of just throwing out baseless accusations, feel free to share with the group. I remember a poster who said he knew the Pohlads and therefore defended them against every small criticism as if it was a personal attack. Was that you? Are you doing it again even though I'm not even coming close to slamming the Pohlads? Like I said, someone o another site mentioned they thought the Pohlad's were gearing up to sell the team, I said I didn't think they were, nor should they....then the conversation got to what the details were about paying back money to the county if they did so I went looking for specifics. Nothing more to it.
  18. I appreciate everyone who provided info on this. Greatly appreciated.
  19. That would be outstanding, though the White Sox owner has a serious dislike for him and he yields serious power amongst the owners.
  20. excellent. thanks
  21. I agree...and I'm happy for him. See post above. Cartwheels I tell ya, cartwheels. Additionally, the book hasn't even been written on May, nor has Worley seen the end even though most are ready to burn him at the stake already.
  22. If they sell, is there a provision in place that says the team can't be moved. I thought I heard that as well...like for 30 years or something.
  23. That's awesome! Hope he keeps it up.
