Is Morneau a type A or B FA this offseason? If you cant get anything better from another team for him just hold onto him and get the compensation pick, we definitely will not get anything better the a C rated prospect for him. Also I believe we should hold onto Perkins. People have the unrealistic expectation that he will command a major prospect or a few, but its not likely. Just like last offseason when people were here dreaming up these awesome trades (for us) it didnt happen because most people believe that the player on their favorite should be worth much more than they actually are worth. -

Love this article. Great write up with a lot of critiques on the bad and a lot of praise for the good. Nothing overly negative. He seems to give realistic projections for Buxton and not going crazy like some scouts do. The analysis was very in depth...For me it gave me a better understanding on Buxton with only seeing him have a couple plate appearances. Wish more articles had this kind of analysis on ESPN and such. -

I'd say closer to 40% than Allhopeisgone's .000000001% . And yes, I would have resigned him for that. haha you would have resigned Liriano...Are you nuts? For 2 years 14 million!? He is worth a mere fraction of that. Pfffttt 40%, yupp all of a sudden Liriano is going to turn into an All Star. No way.

I like this signing. Now its time to sign Brandon Webb and see what he has left in the tank. In all honesty we know 2013 is a lost cause, but while we give these reclamation projects a shot the guys in the minors will be developing for the future and if one of them actually gets back to his almost former self...then its a win win!

What could Nick Punto bring to the Twins?

Punto obviously is in the decline, but I think he would a great guy to have on your bench, im not the biggest fan of Punto, but the flair and grittiness that he brought to the Twins was nice, and thats what I think they need. They need a guy to show them how to hustle and go all out everyday, and Punto always did that in a Twins uni. -
Exactly, Dempster can be a workhorse of any rotation but he definitely was not worth that contract, and its likely he will get lit up in the AL EAST. I like Sanchez a lot, but i think he is a solid # 2 pitcher and thats a nice deal for him.

I dont think the Rangers would make this trade, but I do believe that it would be a fair trade, and I dont think youre too far off to say the Twins maybe should get a lower level pitching prospect with moderate upside.
