    Rebuilding? is why we play a slow footed catcher in right field, is why we play a soon to be 40 Yo.MI ,Is why we keep a 30 year old career minor leaquer with a minor leaque avarage of .215,and a mlb avg of .183 on the 40 man roster while releasing 25 and 26 year olds posible prospects...This is not rebuilding , its smoke and mirrors to keep the sheep grazing and paying ,while Ryan and Gardy try to keep there jobs...

    Which bargin basement free agent has he trade in the past? Teryys signature move is to pay money for garbage, and make that FA awaste of space and money ....Instead of signing and paying for quality players , who have value,and hence are assets...not a WOS (waste of space)

    All 30 G.M.s , every agent , and every pitcher knew the twins needed starting pitching last off season. Terry said he was talking to or trying to sign a pretty darn good pitcher...Who was that? He got lucky with signing Correia, there is not 1 person who could look at Kevins stats and truely believe he could transition to the American leaque and put up better numbers ,then he ever did in the National leaque....then there was 11 month T.J. freak who may end up the best od the additions, and of course a twice hurt worely...... my point was simple Sanchez and Shields would have made us the team to pick to dethrone the Tigers...On a side note, wouldnt it be nice to finally have a free agent that could be thought of as an asset rather then as a waste of money?

    What value does Drew have in the system? Maybe the 3base bag gets torn and we use Drew as the new bag?

    I agree we dont give up Sano or a few other non touchables, But if we dont make a call , how do we know we cant make a trade? Didnt Tampa lose there starting CF? So wouldnt a proven quality leadoff hitting above average defensively Span who has a team friendly contract , not make a good 1st piece of the trade, adding in a Gibson ,and then go from there, Maybe there G.M says Sano , maybe he says harrison and and and , And we decide those other 3 players are expendible.

    I do not refuse to believe our prospects dont have value, but i refuse to believe evey kid coming up is going to be HOF, Allstars. Do i hope they will be ? Of course i do ,All Twins fans should, but Proven is proven , and a prospect is just that , a prospect

    Im saying why not both? Isnt that how quality teams do it? they get quality prospects and still get quality free agents?

    Yup 2 years of having an Ace, and then we would have to either pay him or let him go. With all the kids coming up and payroll down ,we should have plenty of money to keep him if he is still the pitcher he was when we accuired him ....But i deferre to your knowledge, we got 4 kids with bright futures ,and most are sure they will all be better then Shields.

    Yes that 1 , that lights out pitcher , who is now on the D.L , the 1 who maybe next year gets an invite to spring training, the same guy who maybe has additinal shoulder or arm problems before he gets to the major leaques, if he ever does....thats why they call them prospects , not locks cause stuff happens

    And a prospect is just that, A prospect , Span has Value, he is proven ....you dont have to add water and watch him grow ,like the rest of the magic beans

    And the main point was to get an Ace...Something we havent had in years.....Some thing every legit team needs. Can anyone here tell me if we had signed Sanchez and traded for Shields, we would not have been the pre season favorites to over take Detroit? Can anyone say that our boards wouldnt be lit up with positive remarks, move ticket sales ? Once again penny pinching front office scred the pooch , wich is becoming all to easilt acceptible by the masses

    Sorry my friend , but ownership and the Twins front office flat out lied...They hoodwinked the state to pony up 350 million so ownership could garner larger profits,increase the value of there team.Then did not live up to there end of the agreement.They allowed 3 players to walk via free agency after make discount offers to them,then failed in bringing in quality starters ,both in pitching and fielding. Now in a rebuilding season ,managerment is struggling to keep there jobs,rather then in rebuilding...They are playing aging veterans,in hopes of winning a couple more games then last year. And what did we get from 2 more victorys in 2012 over 2011? We lost out on a near ready starter in gray, and had to settle for a loner shot ,in 18 year old diabetic , just so Ryan could say ,hey we are improving...

    I think Ryan is scared of his shadow , when it comes to trades....he made 1 lucky trade and hasnt ever lived up to it since, money , yes Shields is earning 12 million or 12.5 this year.To some one like Terry , he feels like that should be the budget for the entire pitching staff, not just 1 pitcher, maybe he should try his hand at the independant leaques with budgets under 1 million a year,since his only attribute is dumpster diving
