  1. I was thinking the same thing about being favored. Won't happen all that often this year. That's the main problem facing this squad, day in, day out they will face a better opponent...
  2. I was hoping they would have put Sano somewhere where he would do less damage on defense. Like RF.
  3. If Trump is forced out of office Pence (and the Reps) are toast. But a lame duck (relatively) competently managing the levers of government isn't a terrible thing, even if he does so under the language of right wing religion. My biggest concern about Trump is still that his Administration's incompetence is going to get many people unnecessarily killed, either in the US or especially around the world. That concern would be greatly reduced by literally any other Republican of note.
  4. Second that emotion. These are great, thanks for putting them together.
  5. Spitballing here, but rather than worrying so much about the source of the opposing political philosophy, perhaps the better solution is to bring forth an alternative that is attractive enough to win the next election.
  6. It's not especially complicated. For whatever reason the front office doesn't think much of Park and don't care about his spring training stats.
  7. I don't disagree, though an argument can be made for each of those 3 to be kept. We'll see Vargas pretty soon I think. And I imagine much of the roster will be scrubbed throughout the year, they're just delaying decisions as long as they can. In addition to keeping assets, the front office seems to think little of the future of Park, for better or worse.
  8. If he pitches decent he'll have good value at the deadline. Good enough to start a postseason game. Santiago could bring something back too.
  9. He only has 13 AA starts. Makes sense to start him there. He can jump up if any of the AAA guys move. He could still break in to the bigs some time in the second half. Not sure what people are looking for.
  10. Bumgarner doing Bumgarner things. Easily my favorite player in baseball.
  11. And keeping Santana keeps with the larger strategy of not risking the loss of any assets.
  12. Or everyone wanted him. They probably have a higher opinion of Santana than we do as posters.
  13. I'm not so sure, he was actually quite humble about it, acknowledging that the new style is pretty unfamiliar to him. He was there basically the entire camp, talked to a lot of people. And where exactly is the trolling in those statements?
  14. I doubt it, for better or worse this is a common rule for male Evangelical leaders.
  15. I'm in agreement with all that you said, I was just building on the points. Probably shouldn't have quoted. All that to pile on the original point that the Dems are not holding back and they would not be concerned about Pence.
  16. I have absolutely no love for Pence, but he strikes me at least as a patriot who does respect our national security apparatus and other institutions. This makes him approximately infinitely morrle preferable to Trump.
  17. Probably. I don't especially care if they keep him. I'd just keep him over Franklin.
  18. Yes on all accounts.
  19. He's probably not a .300 babip either, and his iso is over .050 lower last two seasons.
  20. Chatter is that Vargas will be back pretty quick. Probably woild have broke camp if not for WBC or fouling ball off foot.
  21. For some more context I highly recommend the start of Saturday Morning Sportstalk with Reusse. A couple of takeaways: Park never had a chance no matter how well he played, barring several injuries. There's a reason he was removed from 40 man earlier. Vargas will be back really quickly, assuming he doesn't completely tank in AAA. The only roster decision Molitor "won" was keeping Grossman. Otherwise roster is 100% Falvey/Levine. Primary motivation was to keep as many assets as possible, especially in regards to Tonkin and Haley. Finally, Reusse said there were all kinds of employees in their mid-20s walking around he didn't know. There has probably been a lot of hiring we haven't heard about.
  22. A year is probably not long enough to turn over the 40 man in a significant way. The obvious move to get Park on the 40/25 man would have been to return Haley.
  23. I really hope Democrats are not as irresponsible as Republicans to entrust Trump with the national security apparatus any longer than is absolutely necessary, no matter what short term political gain there might be. Perhaps I'm the naive one here.
  24. I don't think so. Neither does much, but I would personally keep Santana if the small chance he recaptures two years ago or taps more into his tools. Franklin has just never hit and provides even worse d than Santana.
  25. That's fair. But if you are a borderline arm who can only go one inning and needs to be shielded from lefties, you don't bring much value.
