  1. Seriously, can anyone explain why these have been around for like 5 years? Who are these annoying ads effective with?
  2. And there is a good chance it is relevant, only the future is going to settle that but quit twisting the context of the point being made. We agree - play him and see. But we are on a longer stretch of poor performance than 58 PAs.
  3. The argument isn't based on 58, that's you twisting it. Literally no one is making that argument, quit knocking down that strawman. I sure as hell care about Sano play 7 months ago when I evaluate his start. I do about Dozier too, drawing some goofy line is deliberately moving the goal posts.
  4. 3 hits and a Homer don't change 400 PAs, my point continues to be that limiting this discussion to 58 at bats is disingenuous. This has been on going and last year provides context. Since when do previous season trends get dismissed out of hand? You playing by those rules all the time or only when it suits?
  5. I never said he declined, I said he hasn't been very good for a sizable ongoing stretch. Of course he had blips of good, but this is not a 58 PAS problem as some of you are painting.
  6. And I included the mediocre month despite it not serving my point. I'm using post ASG to now, good or bad and since that time he and Suzuki are pretty similar. I'm not picking stuff apart by freaking week like you just did. Cmon. And yeah, we did this last year and what was my point? If Dozier is this erratic it makes him more unreliable. And here we are 400 very subpar PAS in a row. I hope he recovers but I am worried. 400 is approaching reliable size sample.
  7. I admit, that was some damn fine cherry picking again. Good gravy.
  8. Time won't tell if you keep cherry picking which times count. There will always be a ready supply of excuses, but if we're going to use numbers than let's use numbers and not keep shifting the argument around. Dozier has been hitting more like Suzuki the last 400 times he's come to the plate. You're entitled to worry when you want to, but let's not put lipstick on a pig here.
  9. He has no valid reason for continuing this race unless he's trying to keep his supporters checked in. But if that's his purpose - he needs to put the kiddie gloves on about Clinton. As long as he keeps bashing her, he is hurting the Democratic Party the longer he stays in. And I tend to agree with any criticism of a voting process where you have to register so far in advance. All voting should be same day nation-wide. But c'mon Sanders bobos - your guy still got beat 3-1 in the black vote and 2-1 in the hispanic vote. The guy's voting block is as white as a Republican's. That has been, and was always going to be, his undoing.
  10. Thibs! That's who I was rooting for! Damn it's exciting to be a Wolves semi-fan right now....
  11. If someone knows a site or a place you could compare two players over their last 500 PAs I would guess we'd be horrified how similar Dozier and Suzuki have been. I tried and failed to find such a site, but I think it might sink the point home if anyone else can have more luck.
  12. 2000 is being generous, it's closer to 1500 and 700 that are worrisome. 400 of those 700 being the most recent 400 at-bats of his career. Let's make this super clear - I am not advocating trading him. I'm not advocating Polanco takes his spot. But Brian Dozier has been hitting like Kurt Suzuki for the last 400 at-bats and everyone is shrugging their shoulders. That's crazy to me.
  13. We are currently at his last 400 PAs at an OPS roughly around .600. What's ridiculous is thinking you can somehow limit this conversation to the 50 this season and pretend last season was injury. That's convenient reasoning and cherry picking.
  14. Yes, I continue to worry about Dozier as a long term investment. His weird swings in production don't imply a reliable player to count on. We aren't talking about a minor swing either, he's at "not a starter" level production for four months and counting.
  15. I bet he killed some batting cages for giggles in the offseason, but I ain't counting that either. 4 months of poor hitting should be worrisome for any player. I'm not saying cut him,but we should be past the "eh, he's fine" stage.
  16. Sanders can put on a happy face and celebrate all he wants, but if he continues to attack her how much do those attacks stick with his supporters when push comes to shove? I agree, there could be some benefit to keeping people tuned in....but if they're tuned into a channel that is constantly saying "Hillary stinks" - is that really good for Hillary? I think you could make a case either way, but apathy/disdain for the candidate within their own voting base is probably the Dems' biggest enemy right now.
  17. And while that's possible it's also possible that the league has adjusted to him and that his higher rate of pop-ups is not merely coincidental or bad luck. Here's the truth - if April continues this way we'll be looking at 4 consecutive months of this kind of production. At what point does that become worrisome if not now?
  18. Brian Dozier hasn't had a month with an OBP above .300 since June of last year. Just sayin.
  19. I like Brian Dozier, I want him to more consistently be the kind of high end player we've seen. But the way his production shifts around from week to week and month to month really makes me wonder about him.
  20. Sanders won't drop out and he'll continue to be divisive about Clinton. I'd argue the worst enemy of Hillary is Bernie continuing to turn away liberal voters by continuing to campaign against her. She should mop the floor with Trump or Cruz. (Kasich probably not, but he's a non-factor)
  21. I sure as hell hope so. For that dumpster nonsense I'd like to see Glenn and Gimple take a Lucille beating.
  22. The ball jumps off his bat for sure, but that's all I'm comfortable concluding so far.
  23. Good episode, really sets up some good storylines for next year.
  24. It's a state that has non-white people and not a caucus state, I'm not sure why anyone thought he'd have a chance.
  25. I'm fine with it, seems like a good position for him. It's just a bit hard to get excited about these things when the Neil Allens of the world are the exception. This team just gets too comfortable for my liking and this move is extremely comfortable. It's fine, I'm sure he'll do well, it'd just be nice to get out of our comfort zone a bit more often.
