  1. It's not about being "outnumbered", it's about being hilariously outgunned. I don't care what your personal cache looks like, it probably doesn't match the fortress and armory of your average high level terrorist. And yet we're smoking them via drone without even leaving our command center. The notion that the average citizen, even as part of a large coalition, has a prayer against the government is comedy at this point. It may have been true even 20 or 30 years ago, but we're past the point technologically that a milita is even relevant. Not to mention the "regulated" part - that's plenty vague to pass much more restrictive laws.
  2. 1. So, yeah, I'm still not sure what skills Arya brings to the table or what that whole storyline accomplished. Someone help me out. 2. Cersei's rumor? Was there something i missed with Qyburn and the kids earlier? 3. Good stuff with Jamie, he really shined this episode. 4. Felt like the Mereen stuff was a bit weak 5. I like the idea of the Hound and the Brotherhood joining the North.
  3. I know people say "I don't want to take your guns", well screw it - i'll say it. Yes, you should, for the better of us all, turn in your punisher cache for good. Time to just dig in and move away from these instruments of death towards civility.
  4. I don't think you can say only in America when Europe is facing this as well. But our laws make a guy who was investigated to have ISIS ties able to conceal and carry. Crazy.
  5. Why are we still talking about the weight of a player that doesn't look like he is desperate need of losing weight? Sano is just a big dude. Weight may come into play as he gets older, but it isn't an issue for anyone but Reusse and anyone putting too much stock into what a scale says.
  6. Most people don't know how to talk to kids. That's really all this is.
  7. You're welcome to see if I'm talking out of both sides of my mouth - I'm not. I believed Buxton should go down to work on his issues. Rosario too. If they called up ABW tomorrow I'd call it rushing. I was fine with Berrios going down to work on his control. I don't believe major league pitching is the place to learn plate discipline and never will. So while your witch hunt for hypocrisy is cute and all, it's just not true. The White Sox are making a mistake here, for their sake I hope it doesn't hurt their player. For our sake, I'm glad it isn't us rushing people forward. I've said it before and I'll keep saying it - do what's best for the kid. In the long run that's the best way to build a winner. And that's always the case.
  8. We'll have to see, the story I read today implies it was Islamic terrorism again. And we've seen ample evidence that this does not happen only in America. Not that our gun laws don't help make it easier I'm sure.
  9. I agree. I don't think misogyny is behind the Clinton hate either. She's been associated closely with the last two Democratic presidencies and the right-wing has become more and more vitriolic through both. It's her name and attachment to Bill and Obama.
  10. Resistance to voter I'D laws are rooted in a Resistance to mild racism and stupidity and in a belief in the value of democracy over being suppressive jerks.
  11. I didn't say it was justified. I said it exists. And it does.
  12. Have the Sox been more successful? Depending how far back you want to go, I wouldn't say either side has a commanding lead. And, yes, September isn't always a good look. But I also don't think calling a guy up who has had one season in AA, a couple months in AAA, and has the plate approach of ABW is a smart idea. That is rushing a guy who is clearly not ready unless you want to get enamored with a BABIP-fueled batting average. He's being rushed.
  13. Getting a good look at him is what September is for. His batting profile has virtually no chance of sustainable success against big league pitching. It's the same reason I'm not slotting any MVP awards for ABW no matter how many minor league home runs he hits.
  14. You are seriously underestimating the Clinton hate on the right Smerf, that's all I can say.
  15. Three years in the minors vs. college is roughly the same development. They're debuting at roughly the same age, a little earlier for Anderson. And that fan was saying to wait to even make a call on Anderson - due to defensive and offensive concerns - until September. He was making the same case people here do against Adam Brett Walker - quit getting caught up in what looks good in his profile and recognize the massive red flags. His flaws are obvious - he isn't walking, he's getting by on a high BABIP, and his fielding is questionable. Not the kind of skills usually advanced well at the major league level. Ask anyone with that profile, including several recent Twins players.
  16. Given his hitting profile, I expect those same people also believe in Adam Brett Walker. Or how about what some Sox fans said.
  17. They also appear to be different races, one is from Alabama and the other George, they bat from different sides, etc. If we're going to deliberately miss the point, perhaps we can just go all out? The comparison is - the Sox are competing, struggling in the infield, and called up a middle infielder far sooner than people thought would happen. Kinda like Beckham.
  18. Agreed, and with guys like Goober Walker still saying things like "well, nothing is final until July...", I reserve the right to change my mind after we see how the convention plays out. That could be telling.
  19. Exactly right and this would be my answer to you Brock. They don't have to come out to vote in droves for Trump. It could just be against Clinton. Then you combine that with how disliked Clinton is with how bitter the Bernie-backers are and the next question is easy - how many people that might have voted just to keep Trump out, stay home? To me, this election revolves around those two questions - can the GOP march out enough voters with one of two reasons: anti Clinton or people that don't usually vote that are pro-Trump? And can the Dems march out enough anti-Trump, Hillary cozying to Bernie's message, and minority enthusiasm to take it? And my answer to that question, today, is - *$#& if I know. But I'm preparing my passport just in case.
  20. This is impossible to project until we know just how few guys we trade at the deadline. (I refuse to say "how many" because that implies multiple people when I'm hoping for one and feeling like I may be overshooting reasonable expectations)
  21. What they are doing with Anderson reminds me of what they did with Beckham. That had immediate dividends but in the long run probably cost them a pretty good middle infielder.
  22. Never underestimate the willingness of right wingers to vote in droves. And never underestimate the democrat's base and its willingness to sit it out.
  23. May never should have left the rotation. Time to rectify yet another obvious, glaring mistake.
