  1. That's exactly how I feel. Last night I was actually watching Baseball seasons 1986, 87, 88 on MLBN instead of the World Series. I watch more old games on youtube than I watch current games. I'm just not interested in dozens of pitching changes and even more home runs, walks, and strikeouts.
  2. Disagree. If he pulls this crap with Hildenberger instead of Hader he is just Molitor. In my opinion every single manager in the postseason has basically done a great job of "Can you top this" for idiotic pitching staff management. They are all just looking for guys that will fail instead of sticking with a guy who is pitching well.
  3. Maybe this is on the Angels test:
  4. I'm with you. The broadcast said everyone was aware beforehand. You could almost hear Smoltz biting his lip as to not just tear into this "strategy".
  5. Machado leisurely jogs down the line on a DP, defiant the entire way.
  6. Alright, I just can't root for Counsell and his absurd bullpen management.
  7. I went to bed last night around 10:30 and checked the score right away in the morning. In the past I a) would have stayed up til the bitter end been pissed that I went to bed and missed the end of a close game. Today, I just felt relief that I didn't bother to try and stay up to watch this nonsense.
  8. Like the pitching coach in Little Big League said, "It's all situations and tendencies." Then the little kid schooled him by not wanting to bunt his best hitter.
  9. So basically the front office has already determined they know more about baseball than anyone else and want to see if someone can magically match their previously unmatched knowledge so they know which yes man to hire.
  10. Depth in numbers, dearth in quality. This is not the makings of a big league pitching staff.
  11. Carrasco got taken out after 77 pitches so I wouldn't agree the great Tito is trying to ride his starters. Houston is the least egregious team out there but even their starters are only averaging six innings per start when Verlander and Cole have been dominant. It's just annoying to watch as a fan.
  12. I would like to know why every manager jumps on the same bandwagon at the same time. You would think there would be one contrarian that says, "I'm going to let my starting pitcher throw more than 60 pitches. today."
  13. It reminds me of the Twins fan that made the sign for Game 163 a couple days of Cabrera got a DUI: .323 Miggy's BA or BAC?
  14. I can not stand any of these managers. I hope they all lose.
  15. The NL will probably win the World Series now that I say this but it really does look like the top four teams in the the entire league are those that remain in the AL.
  16. So this is what a successful bullpen games looks like... still hate watching it.
  17. I think Darling said it in the first inning. If you are going to pitch eight guys chances are at least two or three of them don't have it.
  18. Shockingly, the opener fails.
  19. Wally Backman. The worse the season is going the more entertaining it will be. We'll be praying for losses just to see some meltdowns.
  20. I always though Showalter was at the head of the analytics charge even as early as the 90s when he was with the Yankees. His issue was over-analzying everything, at least when he was with the Yankees.
  21. 16 years ago one of the epic Twins threads of all-time began.
  22. I think this season had more of a 68 win feel than 78. The record suggests mediocrity but I think this season was nothing short of a failure. Berrios going into the offseason healthy is probably the best thing that happened to this team.
  23. Would have been interesting if Hawk had called this game.
  24. I would rather have Gimenez pitching than Belisle.
