  1. And these are between two supposed wild card contenders.
  2. I find it ironic that the Twins brass loves Dozier's approach but wants everyone to use the whole field. Apparently being a nice, charming guy is enough to overlook his warts.
  3. I hate it, Hate it, HATE IT. The Twins are in the postseason hunt but it doesn't make me believe they're a good team. I certainly don't have the same level of excitement I had in 2006. Adding the first set of wild cards ruined pennant races for the most part (with a few exceptions). Adding the second makes it even worse. I don't care that the Royals and Giants made the World Series last year as play in teams. You could put the Phillies in the playoffs and they would win a series occasionally. The thing I used to like about baseball was that it was special to make the postseason. Now it is approaching every other sport where all you need to do is be slightly above .500. I don't believe the second wild card was added because Selig saw how exciting the Game 163s were. They were added as a money grab and an attempt to make sure Boston and New York were in the playoffs every year, which has failed. I realize they'll never drop the number of teams that reach the postseason but it doesn't mean I have to like it.
  4. Oh good, Smalley attempting to explain a balk...
  5. just hit the catwalk at the Trop. I imagine it was a different ring but it bounced back into the field of play and they ruled it a home run.
  6. I can't wait until September when Molly can really start managing a bullpen.
  7. I love when Dick just looks like a moron with his stupid comments. Implying that the Twins lineup is so much more vaunted than the Rays: "Forsythe has 14 home runs for the Rays and bats cleanup. Meanwhile the Twins 2b has 26 and bats second." The words are not even out of his mouth before Forsythe homers.
  8. It really will be a nice change of pace from the last two weeks. I'd start Robinson.
  9. I just checked the box score. This short start is a direct result of ****ing around and wasting May in the bullpen. If they had just kept him in the rotation he could still go 90 pitches and we wouldn't be subjected to this J.R. Graham **** show. How many ****ing relievers do we have now- 10?
  10. The two cleanup hitters are Valencia and Colabello.
  11. The ironic thing is any other year this would have worked itself out when he got injured, but this is somehow the year he has remained healthy enough to play.
  12. PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE give a guy an error when it is obvious that a good throw would have gotten the batter out by five steps. How are there not thirty .400 hitters every season?
  13. Someone made a different thread comparing this year to 2001. To me, it feels more like 1998. There are so many old guys on this team that have no future in this organization (well, I'm sure they will all fill out the minor league coaching staff in three years). Young teams need to come up and lose together before they are able to figure things out and become a winning team. Let everyone with a legitimate shot to be a part of the future play and take their lumps together. Hunter, Suzuki, Mauer, Robinson, Pelfrey, and Boyer are this year's version of Molitor, Steinbach, Nixon, Tewksbury, and Aguilera. Both are/were directionless teams and that gives me less hope than a team full of 20 somethings getting their asses handed to them night after night.
  14. How can they cut Robinson? He's the only guy on their staff that can get anyone out.
  15. An unexpected win after blowing that huge lead.
  16. Dick: "Manship not used to giving up hits."
  17. To recap: They gave Pelfrey every opportunity to get extra outs because of short starts in Toronto. THEY HAVE A NINE MAN BULLPEN!!!!
  18. Jesus Christ, I just realized Pelfrey was still in the game.
  19. Nice "hit". If Dozier makes a normal throw he is out by five feet.
  20. Will the Twins finish in last place in the AL Central this year?
  21. Ha, Trevor May in a six run game.
