  1. You have that right. They brought value to the game and fantastic defense. Gasper isn't the reason we're seeing Twins losing, but it is a symptom. Alcala stunk it up no way to sugarcoat getting no outs even on a tough luck hit.
  2. The game of baseball finds when your a black hole and don't belong. Indictment of Rocco.
  3. Today was actually a nice day. Tonight is actually not even cold.
  4. This! Rocco's pet. The third catcher stuff is utter nonsense. Worse than having a Punto or Hocking. At least those guy's could pick it and had speed. You know brought actual value to the game. Hocking and Punto didn't bring much offense, but they were really good defensive players.
  5. Watch the Twins DFA Alcala and he get's fixed somewhere else. Alway's happens that way with the Twins. I know he is broken right now. Someone will eventually figure out how and what role to use Alcala in. He has the talent for this game.
  6. The players as a collective right now stink. Time to unload the apathy., and find guy's who give a sh!t.
  7. I disagree, Gardenhire isn't making squadoosh managing the Saints. It wouldn't take much to any money to promote everyone up a level as interim managers. Let the kid prove himself. Can't be any worse than what Rocco is doing. Team is for sale. New owners will want there own people. Could always have assistant GM run and dump Falvey too with a mandate to dump all big salary's. Fan's are not buying many tickets anyways.
  8. Gasper is not a major league baseball player. He may pose as one and wear the uniform. Wasted at bats on a fringe player at best.
  9. Time to blow this thing up. They are losing many games anyways. Rocco isn't making a difference either way. Bring in the Saints and unload as many Veterans as you can. This Twins team is cooked. People are not gonna buy tix either way as Pohlads have eroded fan loyalty and apathy surrounds all of this.
  10. Lack of a long term media deal both TV and radio makes for unsure revenue sources. Twins ownership the Pohlads have the original investment in the team on the books as debt as well as the stadium debt which was there portion so they have both debts for tax reasons financed on the P&L. From the looks of it they have the debt to buy the radio station they sold at a loss, the Victory broadcasting deal on the books as a loss for depreciation of assets. They also have the commercial real estate the Twins offices for the building nearby on the books. All of that is a big portion of the debt and financing. I'm sure part of that is negotiable. MLB having an uncertain labor contract and the Twins slow attendance do not help. The Pohlad ownership plays a role in the deteriorating attendance, that and the recent crappy weather in the spring.
  11. Any sale of team is gonna be for a lot of money, over a billion for sure. This could mean possibly payrolls like what the Marlins and Ray's have. This could actually backfire on Twins fans.
  12. Twins fans have never asked for ownership to break the bank on payroll. Just keep the team competitive, daft well and provide an entertaining baseball product. No fan has ever said spend like the Dodgers, Yankees or Mets and Giants. Ocassionally contend for a championship maybe once a decade or within 20 years of previous title. Have good front office and scouts.
  13. Twins television will be produced and distributed by MLB.
  14. Not necessarily, but he Festa looks like he could have Closer to top level reliever stuff. I think he could be dominate in that type of role.
  15. Festa seems like a classic bullpen candidate. Gets tired after 3 or 4 innings, teams start to hit him second or third time through the order. He has enough stuff if refined, that to me he could become a dominate reliever.
  16. Seemed nice and knowledgeable when being interviewed. I can say with certainty my least favorite Thad Lavine contribution. Advocating for and signing Joey Gallo. J Gallo was a decent defender, in outfield and first base, but for 2023 Twins, a strike-out prone, DH who failed to drive in any runs was a fail. Gallo rarely provided any consistent RBI's, and was a waste of payroll resources. Denny Hocking like offense, but large guy who on ocassion maybe once or twice a month would hit a home run.
  17. I know this isn't an original Idea but MLB really needs to do something better for all of baseball and the betterment of the game. NBA and College football just negotiated good media rights and TV deals. Seems like MLB go it alone approach hurting the entire league. Yeah brand's like Yankees and Dodgers, or Cardinals may have a little more weight, but them having singular media rights deals that are absolute monsters, are choking off the leagues ability to grow the game, maintain competive balance and ratings are falling. There has to be something better than status quo, one would think. Baseball needs to find a way to renew interest, not just Twins. Twins need more revenue from media rights and league needs more balance, national and regional telecast, streaming and radio.
  18. Agreed, except Twins are stuck with Dave St Peter as he's the business side, marketing and in charge of media rights. We could really use an update on in-game marketing ideas and sponsorships, media rights, newer vision for generating ticket sales in the stadium. I don't know if we have had a few good marketing campaigns since get to know em marketing days. This team needs a boost and to stop annoying or brushing off the fans. How about trying to work with Saints marketing team or even a Mike Veck. I'm not talkkng Savannah Bannanas silly-ness but Twins need to bring back some fun and atmosphere to Twins games and Target Field. 2024 was boring and a grind, in stadium that is for sure with exception of a really good green day concert, the other concerts were kind of meh. Royals and Tigers had some fun in game promotions, with Mascot, and in stadium announcer. Twins just have TC wandering around ocassionally claps, or a tshirt cannon. One thing I liked was the stand up make some noise if you from Kansas, Missouri, Arkansas, Royals fans. I mean you can't do that every game but you can on a Big weekend series. They have kids race against hologram of Bobby Witt. Tigers have some interesting in stadium segments too. Twins should scout out what the competition is doing on game days. If works well borrow it. Target Field could use a good spot cleaning, some paint and touching up of bathroom doors, steps Safety anti slip tape upgraded. A refresh of the club area to improve traffic flow, maybe some change of the artwork tables and chairs. You gotta keep things modern looking and not dumpy run down like the Metrodome. People will sooner spend more if they like the entertainment , food and beverage options, and the facility appearance matters. TF starting to show some heavy wear and tare. That dock seating area needs to be more interactive. The Truly area is nice. The club area needs some improve viewing displays as do lower deck concourses. People get bored with the same old stuff every year. Twins have been in a bit of rut since 2019.
  19. Might be strength in numbers, if Twins, Royals, Tigers. Guardians try to partner together on a television rights deal. Maybe check in with White Sox have with Comcast sports net and see if they can negotiate as a block rather than just as individual franchises. Maybe get more programming besides just game telecast, like Inside Twins, Insider Royals. I know we're competitors as far as division games, but maybe a divisional block would help guarantee all the teams a bigger guarantee than as individual entity's. Cannot be any worse than fiasco of Diamonds sports and 2024 TV rights. Might be worth it for Twins to explore a partnership with other MLB franchise? Maybe they block together with Yankees Yes or Try to do something with Diamondbacks and Padres. Just seems like league would better off trying to do a combine. Harder to negotiate carriage rights as one brand. Separate deals for streaming and radio make sense, but television much harder to negotiate i think.
  20. Good recollection of the Cleveland game Hambino. I had forgotten Ober stayed in because that was the game Henriquez pitched the 10th. Ronny looks like he has some good stuff, just needs to refine it, gain more experience in leverage situations like 7th or 8th inning. Outside of Sands, Jax, Duran bullpen was real crap shoot this 2024 season. Twins need to add some left handed reliable bullpen help.
  21. It was 33 years ago, more than half a lifetime for a lot of us. What was Rocco 8 years old? This was supposed to be comical or satirical. I didn't have an issue with Rocco's use of the bullpen for the most part. Only game I didn't like it was 09/07 with Ober. Bailey Ober was dealing, Royals were striking out and hitting weak grounder's. Hopefully Rocco learned from that game that when a starting pitcher is only a little over 80 pitches, and cruising, you let them pitch until they say they don't got it or anything left. You don't always have to use the bullpen automatically. Slide had already started but things really seemed to click downward snd head South after that game. Twins were missing a lot of players that weekend. 8
  22. Someone needs to steal Rocco's computer and load it with video of Jack Morris pitching against Atlanta Braves in 1991 and put the video on loop.
  23. At least reasign Watkins, and let somebody else coach 3rd base and outfielders. Could use a new bullpen coach too.
  24. Is there a transcript of this?
  25. Bring back, beer, pop, water, hot dogs, peanuts, popcorn malt cup, lemon chill vendors or hawkers Games move so fast now wasting time in a concessions stand causes you miss 2-3 innings of game action. Ordering app is clunky and stadium staff doesn't honor order system of pre-orders. Stadium vendors are part of being at a baseball game. I know pandemic was part of this and labor shortage. Bring back Hormel hot dogs they are better than Schweigert. Probably could even get a sponsorship again. Charging the ticket fees when you buy tickets in person or walk up is low rent and cheezy, and unfair. Asking for a tip when you self served your beer is really off putting and rude. Twins ticket prices are top 12 in cost compared to Milwaukee or St Louis, Kansas City. They have vendors in KC and Chicgao. Twins would sell more tickets if prices were reasonable.compared to those city's City connect uniforms are hideous LA Rams colors, except the hats, Do those in team colors. Red, white and blue. Bring back Red jerseys and hats. Truly area is really nice, and has good customer service, Center field and Gray duck areas could be similar at least from service perspective . The stadium is really starting to show it's age, the club seats and seating area are not special, especially when you have ripped seats, dirty floors, and limited bath rooms that are really dirty. The baseball if it is entertaining and scoring runs fans generally enjoy hitting and offense more than a team that only scores 2 to 3 runs a game. Twins offense a lot of home games was really poor and caused fans to leave early. Royals and Cleveland, Detroit take walks, steal bases and hit and run, they run the bases a lot better than the Twins. Twins hitters strike out and hit into too many double plays. Need to increase runs scored by 1 to 2 runs more a game. Having less game day Staff may save team money, but makes facility seem less safe and secure for a downtown environment. Downtown Minneapolis is safe, but has a perception of being unsafe due to crime reports and 2020 riots. Need some marketing related to that image. Don't have Joe Pohlad making statements like right sizing the payroll, just ticks off fans. Twins have work to do in winning back fans, less bragging more fun emphasis. Get rid of Dave St Peter, he and his marketing are as stale as game pretzels, bring in someone that can negotiate a better TV and radio rights deal for Twins. Not being on TV for 40 to 50% of market cost the team ticket sales and angered people. All of that put team in a negative light with fans. Twins fans like the team, you see a lot more fan gear at games than you did in the Metrodome days. End to this season has left fans bitter and thinking owners and management don't care about quality of baseball being played.
