  1. Of course all republicans aren't Nazis. Some are, and feel comfortable in the party. That wasn't the case 15 years ago, when I was about to vote for W. I would have a problem self identifying politically with groups that identify as Republican. If there was widespread disavowing that would be one thing, but there isn't. That's a problem, and why I don't support them anymore.
  2. Champ, I'm discouraged you feel that way about our discussions. I wholeheartedly disagree that the common posters operate in that manner. There have been many discussions with differing viewpoints and civil arguments. I think you'd find many of us sympathetic to select conservatives policies. Many were, and still are, fans of John Kasich. There are not many Trump fans, but we have given him a tip of the cap when deserved. That said, any argument is met with the expectation of supporting facts. Doesn't really matter what side you're arguing from. Sometimes there is a right and a wrong, sometimes it is subjective and can be interpreted multiple ways. A well reasoned opposing opinion can help educate everyone on a topic, if not change a few minds. I think you'd find your voice welcomed in any discussion. Like machine gun Kelly says, let's talk about it.
  3. It's all good. I'd rather split hairs about particular ideas than argue about semantics and nebulous support. I know we haven't had much dialog on here, and not sure how much of these huge threads you've read, but many of us are moderates that are disenfranchised by the GOP at the moment. The GOP platform has really been deformed and turned in into something many of us can't support.
  4. I have a problem with those polls. For one, I think approval to many means they are Republican and a Republican is in office (likely vice versa for democrats). Problem is, I refuse to believe such a high percentage of republicans approve of Trump. The man is a menace to the world, and the only solace exists to particular conservative issues, many of which are not in cohesive agreement within the party. Many Republicans on the hill hate him, but are too cowardly to speak against him. I believe this sentiment is pervasive in the nation as a whole, but I could be bias because of my disdain and hope that the masses can see through partIsanship.
  5. Do you approve of Trump or the current direction and actions of the GOP?
  6. I struggle to see how he can be approved by anyone. Even a partisan conservative.... I just don't see how one can approve how he is doing his job. Likely, he will go down as the worst president in my lifetime. I think they are overestimating his support. We do have a Trump topic btw.
  7. I have colleagues in India right now too.
  8. In other news... Netanyahu is being indicted. No surprise that he is a scumbag. I doubt it has much consequence to our country, but hopefully Israel is able to put a better leader forward.
  9. I'd rather the GOP attack AOC than Pelosi. I think Pelosi is much more vulnerable and much more of a liability than AOC. Attacks against AOC will work with the older generation and racists.
  10. You need to be more specific, I'm not sure what point you're making. What Mike is talking about, is why work has to be done in order to have a place to live, food to eat, and medical care. We've built this economy based on man power. The economy doesn't run that way anymore. Computers, technology and automation have made production cheaper, faster and more profitable. The longer we allow corporations and the 1% to absorb all the new profits, the faster we turn into China.
  11. So you don't think members of her staff that work full time deserve 50k? It was hard to tell through the condescending foam... You're right, these 'idealistic ideas' have been around a while. However, they aren't utopia, or a perfect world scenario. They are being used in every other Western country in the world. Our refusal to adopt any of these policies is a failure of our government to do its job and make decisions for what is best for the people. I work for a German country, and have spent time in Munich. There are things about Germany and their government that bug me, but I much prefer it to our system. I'll take AOC as a congresswoman all day compared to the Mitch McConnells in DC.
  12. He's been doing this since he was very young. I wouldn't be surprised if baseball doesn't pan out, to see him pursue it full time.
  13. If the staffer failed to get eating utensils for her.... I don't feel sorry for them. Plus, I'm sure it was Klobuchar's comb she used to eat. And.... this staffer is complaining about cleaning a comb. Give me a break. This is a bull **** story.
  14. The coordinated effort against Klobuchar is startling. High and low, the liberal left is coming after her. I identify with pragmatism much more than an ideology. If Kasich runs against Bernie and Trump, I'm voting Kasich. Single payer healthcare might happen in my lifetime, but it isn't going to happen soon. Too many people have been fed f*** the government, government can't do anything right etc. for too long to overcome overnight. I liken what has happened in rural communities to what Islamic Jihad does in the Middle East. They pray on uneducated, struggling, religious, people with little opportunities. Give them a vision, a direction, and an enemy. Sound familiar? It is exactly what the GOP did. If the Democrats want to pass these dramatic types of changes, they'll need to win people over bit by bit.... And it certainly isn't going to happen until the baby boomer generation is long gone (another 20+ years).
  15. Mueller report about to drop? What are the odds it sees the light of day before the election?
  16. Hey, a foreign policy I can actually support... with squinty eyes...
  17. Biden, Beto, and Harris are the front runners imo. Just a matter of time before Beto and Biden get in the race.
  18. There is still time. At least he'll be facing MLB hitters and contributing to wins for the Twins. I've long advocated for young pitchers to cut their teeth in the pen while developing in the big leagues. Disappointing as it is, he isn't advanced for his age anymore, and the Twins can use an arm like his.
  19. Yeah... This whole staged attack is shameful for numerous reasons. The actual victims of this type of violence are disrespected to the n'th degree. If it is confirmed, I really hope there is a huge backlash against him.... including being fired from Empire.
  20. I have no doubt he will take the fight where it belongs now. I believe reality is going to come crashing down on the NFL soon. I hope Jerry Jones is in the middle of the crumbling, because I think he is one of the worst of the lot.
  21. He's already in the hall of fame.... for knife fighting. Come on man.
  22. National emergency declared. Now we're actually going to have a constitutional crisis.
  23. So women can't have sexist views against women? Labombo? I get that isn't your whole point, but that argument falls flat. It sounds to me like she isn't a very nice person, and I bet many in Congress are similar. There is also an Atlantic article attacking our new Muslim women in Congress for being anti Semitic after they made comments critical of a pro Israel lobby making payments (which they deny). That article is even worse than the Klobuchar article. The left is truly beginning to cannibalize itself. Sad to see, but many predicted this.
  24. I'm surprised it isn't a restructure too. Rudolph should be flat out cut. Griffen wasn't an all pro, but he wasn't horrible. If they have guys beating down the doors it is one thing, but I don't think there is. Barr is going to walk. No way they should pay him to stay.... Addition by subtraction imo. Despite the amount of money and high picks in the defense, I really don't think it is deep in talent nor burgeoning with it. The secondary is strong, but it makes no difference if the line and lb aren't able to penetrate or stop the run.
  25. Right choice. He wasn't the same when he came back. Rarely impacted games. Not worth the money at this point. The defense was mediocre, and he had a lot to do with that.
