  1. Yes you could try him in the bullpen. If that doesn't pan out, a straight out release wouldn't be the worst idea.
  2. Well shopped in the bargain bin. The bargain turned out to be not such a bargain.. Not a big surprise he didn't pan out based on his minor-league numbers. I don't know why this we always have the shop in the bargain bin for players who may pan out. But it's the "Twins Way". I wish they would to sell the team. Get some owners who want to win and spend more money. There were good relievers that went for 6 million a year. I don't think that is an absorbent amount of money in today's day and age.
  3. Were putting the bar pretty high this year again.. As I've said before, give Bill Smith the checkbook. ..
  4. Well we knew what we had to address.. If things go bad, we know who to blame..
  5. Kind of sounds like some excuse by the twins. We'll say he's tipping his pitches. Hopefully he can return to the prior years performance. It couldn't be that his fastbal 2 mph slower. Could it?
  6. Nice article Parker. I wish as well we had better things to write about... Can we please give Bill Smith back the checkbook?
  7. Ryan may be able to build a old-school bullpen. But I don't understand why we always have to shop in the "Bargain bin". As for Fernando, I think his fastball dropping 2 mph was more likely the cause of the rough year.
  8. It's too late at this point for a decent sign.. They had their chance and blew it..
  9. LOL, good luck with that offer.. The twins just need to spend money. They have plenty, why not sign a multiyear reliever deal?
  10. Right on spot. We need to spend sometimes to win.. I'd like the twins to be at 115-120 M. I don't think it's too much to ask..
  11. What would it hurt to add a RP? Is what I don't get. An extra 5-6 million for a decent set up man. Are we really counting on Taylor Rogers? Prepare to be disappointed if so..
  12. Regardless of the domestic abuse charges. The twins have shown their too cheap to pick up a reliever. Instead were shopping in the bargain bin... Hopefully one day we'll get over the hump when it comes to adding payroll.. Yes they added payroll when the ballpark opened. I think that was mostly for show
  13. The twins would never consider someone who has anything to do with domestic abuse charges.
  14. There is no excuse for not adding additional payroll if needed.. Such as a FA reliever. They are making plenty with TV, radio, MLB.tv etc.
  15. You didn't take my full statement into your quote. But I'll rephrase it.. If the Twins really wanted to win badly and wasn't about money. They would have signed a FA reliever. Spend the 5-8 million and we'd be looking good right now. Almost every other team as beefed up their bullpen, but us..
  16. I agree, all other minor league deals didn't specify terms if they made the team. The guy probably had other opportunities.. But with that said, I don't think this is is what most fans hoped for.
  17. Abad will get 1.25 million if he makes the team. I think this is the Twins big move for a lefty
  18. Terry Ryan and the Twins don't care. They are happy if the team is competitive.. They don't want to get past the first round of the playoffs. Nonetheless win the division.. If they did, they'd have acquired some bullpen help.. A lot of people thought things would change once we got the new ballpark. But nope, same Twins..
  19. They shouldn't have to look for the next Ryan Madison. They should be looking to sign a top FA reliever. Quit being so cheap..
  20. If he pitches well in spring. I'm assuming he will be added to the roster.
  21. #MNTwins sign lefty Buddy Boshers to MiLB deal w/ invite to spring training, per source. Precious MLB experience w/ Angels.. According to Darren Wolfson. Is this our big move? Looking like it..
  22. #MNTwins sign lefty Buddy Boshers to MiLB deal w/ invite to spring training, per source. Precious MLB experience w/ Angels.. According to Darren Wolfson
  23. I agree with your analysis of TR. It is unfortunate that it has to be that way. Yes, we'll be shopping in the bargain bin. Maybe Matt Thorton, low ERA. Low strikeouts. Sounds like a twins pitcher
  24. I'm not sure why we always have to make a trade to get a good reliever or other piece. Couldn't we just pay for a FA reliever? Trevor Plouffe is going to make 8 Million. If we added a good FA, It would have been an extra 8 million or less..What's the problem here..
