    Let him pitch. Never mind we have so much quality pitching we don't need more. As far as it goes he could pitch and still play in the field worked for Babe Ruth how hard can it be?

    At this point Joe should be done catching period. He is still owed 5yrs @ 23m = 115 mill. One more foul ball off the mask and it's a good chance you get nothing. Move him to 1b and his chances of producing the remaining 5 yrs are very good. He goes back to catching and they are not very good. Yes he is worth more catching but he is worth zero sitting at home. The move is smart and prudent, no need at this time for macho, macho man.

    I don't know Ryan but having watched his work if he signs any above mediocre free agent I'll be very surprised and if the payroll doesn't drop by around 10% maybe hitting 70 I'll be even more surprised. Hope I'm wrong.

    It's not his value as a catcher but his value playing or being on the dl long term. One more foul ball and he could be toast or at least a shell of himself. His value at 1b may not be what it is catching but his value sitting at home is zero.

    Easy they owe Mauer $115 mill after this year. You do whatever is the best way to keep him playing, wherever that may be. First and dh are the most likely. Catching is the least likely. One more foul tip to the mask and we have another Morneau like fall and a lot of money goes out the window along with your best player.

    The pitching staff is also very white and english speaking. Not sure that means more coachable but the lack of minorities % wise is out of wack. League wide is 35-40%, Twins have 1 out of 12. The lack of minority coaches has been the "Twins Way" for a long time.
