  1. That's a pretty nice return for Butera. Props to TR.
  2. Yet another example of TR leaving no stone unturned in his quest to improve the team. Or not.
  3. What makes you think they aren't looking to make another salary dump? I'm guessing the price isn't very high for Morneau at this point.
  4. It sounds like the Blue Jays and the Orioles have both been looking into Morneau. I have a feeling he's gone by the deadline. Cafardo On Morneau, Blue Jays, Veras, Ramirez: MLB Rumors - MLBTradeRumors.com Orioles Notes: Young, Morneau, Morse: MLB Rumors - MLBTradeRumors.com
  5. The Diamondbacks are getting desperate for starting pitching. Owings is blocked in AZ. Would the D-backs go for deal centered around Kevin Correia and Chris Owings? The D-backs need to do something soon, their lead has evaporated.
  6. That's a pretty spot on column by Reusse.
  7. I believe this report, I think at this point it's more about Ryan's ego than about having the cash to spend. It seems as though Ryan finds it to be a bigger challenge to him personally to build a winner on the cheap than to build a winner by spending money and that's the approach he's going to sink or swim with.
  8. They have to listen to offers for anyone on the team not named Arcia. I wouldn't want to be just giving anyone away though (like last year), it's not like they need to cut salary.
  9. Does anyone have an update on Kepler?
  10. Eades on ESPN2 now.
  11. The idea of the Yankee's getting compensatory picks kind of sickens me.
  12. The Sporting New projects Kris Bryant to the Twins. I could live with that. MLB mock draft: Astros go economical route again with Heels' Moran - MLB - Sporting News
  13. You can say the same about the Twins. Lots of rainouts. I blame global warming.
  14. Here's an interesting tweet by Jim Callis: Jim Callis ‏@jimcallisBA I'll say Stewart. @rob_balboni1: who was better coming out of HS into their respective drafts Archie Bradley or Koll Stewart? #mlbdraft If you're not aware, Bradley is a RHP drafted number 7 overall by the Diamondbacks in the 2011 draft, he had a scholarship offer to play QB at Oklahoma. He has been phenomenal thus far in the minors. This is pretty high praise by Callis. Archie Bradley Minor League Statistics & History - Baseball-Reference.com
  15. And I don't think they were trying to save money, just trying to allocate it differently.
  16. Mike Trout & Justin Upton were both in the majors at 19, I doubt that it happens but 2014 is certainly within reach for Buxton.
  17. I enjoy these scenarios, keep them coming!
  18. Gray is the much safer pick, easy choice in my book. I'd think the Twins would have to be doing cartwheels if he fell to number 4.
  19. In my opinion, Kohl Stewart is the clear number 4 in this draft (behind Gray, Appel and Bryant). If any of the big 3 are available to the Twins, I would hope that the Twins would not pass on them. In this scenario, I would gladly take Bryant.
  20. Stewart seems to have the highest upside of anyone outside of the big 3 and fills a need, how do they pass that up? He would seem like a no brainer in this scenario.
  21. Who exactly thinks Moran has poor bat speed? He's a solid player, maybe not top 3 worthy but certainly in the next tier. Scouting Report: Colin Moran (3B) | Baseball Prospect Nation Summation: The guy can hit. He has the approach, discipline, simple swing, plate coverage and bat speed to hit for a solid average against high-level professional pitching. He will find the gaps with regularity and he will have 10-15 home run power just by virtue of him driving mistake pitches and some of his doubles carrying over the fence.
  22. 110 strikeouts and a 0.14 ERA in 51 2/3. A fastball that can reach mid 90's. Left-handed. I'm not sure that Green will make it to the Twins in round 2. I'd love it if he did.
  23. Ugh. Color me less than enthused by that thought.
  24. What makes you think that they could get Stewart, Frazier or Shipley under slot but not Moran? Here's a Joey Votto comp on Moran: 2013 MLB Mock Draft: The Star Each Projected First-Round Pick Most Resembles | Bleacher Report Who couldn't use a Joey Votto?
