  1. I have been a TD follower for a long time and to my chagrin, did not know of some of these features. Thank you Nick, for posting this.
  2. I still would have tried Joe in RF and Sano at 1st. I just believe that they won't mess with Joe at all.
  3. Plenty of Debbie downers out today. Enjoy it for however long it lasts. We all have been waiting a long time for any success.
  4. Fun to follow these guys as they progress.
  5. I think that the Twins are positioned to make a trade (or trades) late in ST. Injuries happen to all teams and with the overstocking of pitchers on the Twins, we could see some interesting happenings. Pelf with one year on his contract, Milone with his prior success, Nunez with his supposed flexibility and others could all be moved.
  6. I am concerned about the report that came out a couple days ago alleging that Rosario basically refused to run the hill in FM when the other minor league guys were running it. The impression i got was that a. he felt he was above that or b. he was too lazy to run it. I have no idea whether the report was valid or not but if so, I find it troubling.
  7. There are a lot of things to agree with on this thread. Like Jimmer said, I don't really mind a long game. I am an old guy so it's fine if the game goes long. I too can see where it is hard to attract new fans who may get bored easily and I understand the need to get home on a weeknight because of school, work, golf etc the next day. i think Jim Kaat had a really good point about batters. Have all of us ever watched a Red Sox - Yankees game? I think it is faster paced watching paint dry and mostly it is batters primping after every pitch. Do batters gloves really get loose after every pitch?
  8. I for one, have no desire to watch Pelf take five minutes between pitches. I am getting old and am not sure I can wait that long. Of course he does help me take a nap between pitches.
  9. I really believe that a serendipitous development timing like the Twins will have with so many highly skilled players in one spot will be very good for their learning to win together. These are young guys who probably have been "the man" in all their earlier years. Now they will develop as a team and learn to drive each other to success. Yes, some could get a false sense of ability but the good far out ways the bad, in my opinion. I, for one, look forward to a group of guys that expect to have a winning culture versus the crud we have seen recently.
  10. It seems the choice here is between a 10 year old Mercedes and a 12 year old Plymouth. I think I would take the chance on the Mercedes.
  11. According to his agent, he only planned to play this long because he is getting married I believe, but still....
  12. In my opinion, Reusse and Souhan write to an audience that makes some of the most inane comments possible. That is what they get paid for. I admit that I enjoy reading some of their stuff, but like politicians, I try to take what they put out with a grain a salt. They create a narrative that is just plausible enough to gain traction and then feed the beast. On any team in any sport, there will be players who routinely play through injuries and players who routinely need to be at 100% to perform. I believe that Joe's concussion took longer to get over than he was willing to sit out. If he had gotten off to a great (normal?) first half before the oblique, would we be even talking about this?
  13. I've been thinking about Maddon. Here's a guy who from appearances was more than willing to get another guy fired so he could take the job. I know MLB manager is a big boy job, but does ethical behavior have any value? I think it does and for that reason I am happy that the Twins did not go hard after Maddon.
