  1. Good lists Seth even if I think you are crazy for putting rogers that high. I know I'm in the minority but I still have Stewart at #3. Best mix of stuff, athleticism, and size. Stewart is the only one out of our top three pitching prospects that profiles as an ace.
  2. Things I'm looking for in a new manager: 1. Outside the organization. This franchise needs some fresh blood. 2. Players manager. I don't want to see a bobby valentine fiasco here. 3. Young. 4. Big league manager experience. Any form of it would do. 5. Speaks Spanish 6. Played professional ball. I would prefer big league experience but minor league experience would do. Dave Martinez and mike Maddox would be my preferred targets.
  3. Mike Maddox or Dave Martinez are my preferred targets. Go outside of the organization and get some fresh ideas in here.
  4. Philly loves Hamel so I doubt they would move him with out one of Buxton/Sano. I rather trade Meyer+ for Latos (if he would agree to a contract extension). Kemp is interesting if the Dodgers would be willing to eat some of his contract because I don't see them doing this Kemp for Nolasco swap everyone is talking about.
  5. Oh I totally agree with you that I rather the Twins just sign a big name SPer than trade valuable assists for one but that is (surprisingly) less probable then them actually trading for one. What I was saying is I would be open for a prospect for proven player trade which I wasn't open to say, this time last year. I wouldn't mind exploring a Latos trade if rumors were accurate that he was on the block. Once again, they won't sign a big time starter or trade for one so both are points are mute.
  6. Maybe I'm in the minority here in the fact I wouldn't be upset if they packaged Meyer or Berrios in a deal for a prove upgrade. Either way it doesn't matter. In the end I'm guessing outside of a few cheap place holders the team will look the exact same. It is sad too because this will be the first off season in years that I actually think they could get significantly better. Maybe that is just me. Either way I can't wait for the draft!
  7. I consider myself to be a bigger than most prospect/draft guy and the last three years I defended the slow build because this team had a ton of holes. The team has finally built a solid (cheap) big league frame for future success so why not trade from our biggest strength to try and help the team? While the Cubs have the most top heavy prospect system, stupid Buxton/Sano/Stewart injuries, we have the deepest. Why not use some of that depth? Heck, even if we traded both Meyer and Berrios we would still be a top 5 system. It's not like we don't have another top 100 prospect coming to us in next years draft. Even if prospects didn't bust, which they definitely do, we wouldn't have enough roster spots for all our prospects anyways.
  8. Prospects are the currency of baseball. Why not use both our depth of prospects and available money to upgrade the team? Go after a Lester (who won't cost a draft pick) and then turn around and trade Meyer+ for an offensive upgrade?
  9. Suzuki extension via ken Rosenthal.
  10. The point of buying low is to sell high. I just can't see Suzuki being worth a 3 year extension.
  11. Very active trade deadline..... Wish the Twins were more active but that would require valuable trade pieces.
  12. Thanks you for the great post. Very enjoyable read.
