  1. Yes, administrators monitor stuff like this. And it would be monitored and administered better if users made use of the functions available to them (private messages and/or the report post function), rather than potentially inflaming things themselves. Also note that an administrator posted in this thread not even a half hour prior to you. If there were a problem egregious enough to address, it would have been done then.
  2. So it's your assertion that a pitcher who excels against left-handed hitters, would in fact do well against a lineup stacked with left-handed hitters? Hell of a limb you're heading out on there.
  3. You spelled it wrong.
  4. Yeah, but they were eight awesome at-bats.
  5. This is a message board where people discuss topics from varying points of view. There's nothing to "get over."
  6. What if, "what's best for the team" is that additional year of control? Why is that not even being considered a possibility?
  7. I can't speak for anyone else, but I don't care one bit about Super-2 status. It's strictly about money and that's something they should have plenty of at this rate. As for part two, yes they can acquire an additional year of control. I made a service time breakdown post in another thread, if I can scrounge it up I'll repost it here. Here's that post Edit: The minimum time to spend in the minors is 20 days. Anything less than 20 days and the player is given full ML credit for it. Also, yes, players accrue major league service time while on the DL.
  8. Pop-ups are considered flyballs.
  9. Yeah, because that would be exactly the same as advocating for a couple of weeks in year one, then staying on the major league roster for the next 6.9 years.
  10. Not having to watch him was a benefit to the fans.
  11. It depends largely upon his current broccoli intake.
  12. What? Any comparisons are done by the user of the statistic, not the statistic itself. Should WHIP be changed as well? Starters don't pitch one inning at a time, let's have a completely separate WHIP/9. But wait, not all starters pitch the same number of innings, it wouldn't be a fair comparison. We'll need WHIP/5 for Twins starters, and WHIP/7 for Tigers starters. Why don't you use BB% and SO% instead of the per/9 rates if it bugs you that much? They're readily available on Fangraphs.

  14. Guilty as charged.
  15. Four months ago I would have cared about Carroll's option vesting, but that was before it became apparent they have little intention of maintaining an acceptable payroll. Now it doesn't matter, they aren't going to spend that money anywhere else.
  16. Bring it on budday!
  17. Not even Glunn can save you now.
  18. When you say "bloggers," do you mean the "commenters?"
  19. Alright, what's going on in here, what's all this aboot?
  20. How about Connie Mack?
