  1. Just missed tacking on his first XBH.
  2. More or less amazing than the excuses typically trotted out for the front office?
  3. I don't see it as comparing him to other 7th hitters so much, more as a way of providing a little additional context to his numbers.
  4. What I wouldn't give to see the infamous Harrischer duo one last time.
  5. Lollipops are taboo? Who knew!
  6. I don't know, this seems like an awfully small mountain being built here. As such, it should be displayed appropriately. http://thumbs.dreamstime.com/thumblarge_633/131648943531c2aC.jpg

  8. Well yeah, that, and the player's right to refuse assignment that they gain (after 5 years of service), but those were unnecessary complications for my hypothetical. There's also the option for a player to opt for immediate free agency if they've been outrighted previously in their career, or if they have a certain amount of service time (3 years?)
  9. Along with most of what he writes.
  10. Welcome to the club. Every time I've tried to write out service time related posts they sound great in my head, but stream out of my keyboard like crap. Nope, doesn't work that way. The only thing that really matters with service time is total days. It takes 1,032 days of service time for a player to become a free agent, and a player can accrue, at most, 172 days of service in any single season. Once a player hits 172 days in a season, the clock stops for that year (typical season is like 184 days). (172 x 6 = 1032, for the non-mathletes among us) There are no limits to the amount of partial seasons. You could accrue 10 days in year one, 172 in year two, 20 in three, 60 in four, etc, and still be well short of qualifying for free agency even after all those seasons of appearing on the major league roster.
  11. In 2010 on BYTO is was full of sunshine and lollipops. When the team stinks, you get a lot of sad stats.
  12. It seems like they've never had a problem bad-mouthing ex-Twins as long as it fit the narrative coming out of the Twins front office.
  13. OMG Pig, we need this one added, like a week ago.
  14. Big thread about it in the major league forum. http://twinsdaily.com/minnesota-twins-talk/6011-article-oswaldo-arcia-called-up-monday.html
  15. I lol'd at this part. Seems Eric Gregg was always a lousy umpire.
  16. Brock, is that you posting under the wrong account?
  17. Injury is only a concern if he gets seriously injured while in the majors. Once he's back in the minors, any injuries from that point forward will use the minor league DL and no additional service time would be accrued. I don't understand what you're saying about "not making it back and still using a year of service time." It's been pointed out that it doesn't work that way. The clock doesn't simply start and then just keep running, it stops the instant the player goes back to the minors.
  18. I got a real good laugh out of it, so did my father when I told it to him. We don't need to take ourselves so ****ing seriously every minute of every day. I don't think you should have deleted your post.
  19. Yeah, it would suck if he were actually good enough to keep around.
