  5. He was designated for assignment on the 9th. Then the team had 10 days to either trade him, or try passing him through waivers.
  6. Didn't he just go on waivers today?
  7. I believe that waivers last for 72 hours.
  8. He's a strong borderline candidate. I can see him hanging around on the ballot for a dozen years then getting in. I probably wouldn't vote for him, but I also wouldn't argue too vehemently against it. [/passingbuck]
  9. Players start with 3 "option years." If a player is on the 40-man roster, and they get demoted to the minors (like at the end of spring training), one option year gets used. 12. cmat, if I throw you a rope will you climb out of that hole?
  13. Cybermetronerds call them "shutdowns."
  14. Don't worry Dickbert, we'll give Swarzie a "sabermetric save" for you.
  15. After Ramirez remains day-to-day and unable to play for over a week, of course.
  16. Perhaps it's not the outfield play being overrated, but the infield play being underrated.
  17. Florimon's "skills" on display again. It's a good thing he's been hitting like Jeter.
  18. Here we go with the Hunter leadership crap again.
  19. Shhhhh, he's on a roll.
  20. The Blackburn contract didn't require hindsight, it was lousy, and got panned, right from day one.
  21. Pedro Florimon, Proven Run Producer™.
