  1. I lost it here. http://www.runemasterstudios.com/graemlins/images/spit.gif
  2. California math approved.
  3. That's a really optimistic projection given his career. It's likely to be more accurate to say he'll have an ERA in the mid-4's, maybe high 3's.
  4. It's been at least 9 hours now since they've done anything. I'm already getting agitated.
  5. Your suggestion gets bonus consideration due to you possessing one of the best usernames on the forum.
  6. Not the first thought that came to my mind!
  7. No "or twos" though. Guys like that shouldn't get a second year, unless it happens to come in the form of a team option (with little to no buyout).
  8. You spelled 'like' wrong.
  9. Are you going to tweak the font styles/sizes for the thank box so that it doesn't end up eating a bunch of real estate?
  10. I like the thank button less than I like the like button, but I like having it, so you get a li....thank from me.
  11. 2009 and 2010 were the only years he wasn't a full-time shortstop (still playing 1/3rd time there), while the last 3 years have all been full-time at short. Statistically he has graded out pretty well defensively the last few years as well. I wouldn't call 35 "late" 30's either, which is what he'll be when the contract is done. I don't see too much of a problem with that deal. They had a need at short and were aggressive in addressing it. Maybe they gave him a year more than they needed to, but it's pretty reasonable dollar wise per year.
  12. Here's the article I was thinking of. http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2013/10/29/vikings-wouldnt-get-a-third-round-compensatory-pick-for-jared-allen/
  13. Threads merged, title changed to reflect "elevated" status. Happy 'Vikings may win a game in Lambeau" Day!
  14. I thought I read that the comp for Allen would likely be a 5th.
  15. I'm sure they can scrounge something up out of their richly embarrassing...errr, embarrassingly rich depth of #6 starters.
  16. And Vargas would have had the highest k-rate in the Twins rotation last year. 6.5 per 9 isn't all that great, but it's at least respectable.
  17. Likety-like like like.
  18. Nolasco's career-long problem is that he's always been considerably worse with runners on base than with the bases empty, which accounts for his big FIP-ERA discrepancy. It was the same this year, his runners on and w/risp numbers were very similar to his career marks. The big difference between this, and previous years, was that he had fantastic results with the bases empty (.640 OPS) to make up for his putridity with runners on (.777 OPS this year, .779 career).
