  1. You left Alex Meyer (and May) out of your calculus, Darius. (Both could have been force-fed into the rotation in mid-2014 at a time when they absolutely dominated AAA, in which case they would both be much farther along their developmental timeline.)
  2. Naw, "flop"/sarc But seriously though, the K rate is going to have to be addressed here real soon (after today, his K% is just shy of FIFTY PERCENT)
  3. Palka is coming on strong- 4 for 4 today with 1 HR, 2 Db, 2 BB- this guy gets on a tear, watch out!
  4. Let's see... by that do you mean "more" than what they've "accomplished", so far? If so... exactly how many more?
  5. It's a given that the FSL is a pitcher's league, sure.... But.. "seriously"... You need to check the Miracle stats, vis a vis the rest of the FSL, the pitching staff collectively, especially the top 5 starters are dominating almost all of the league-wide stats. This is shaping up to be a pretty special group, and at the very least, the top 3 starters should do very well, and perhaps very soon, at the next level.
  6. Assuming he keeps going anywhere near this level of production, how much longer can they keep him down in Ft Myers?
  7. It's also good to see him moved up in the lineup and Maloney moved down. Things might improve for Palka even more if when Gordon is moved to AA and bats in front of him and Garver and Hicks step up their production levels behind him.
  8. You nailed it. I've seen Esco get razzed by many teammates over the years- not just Dozier. He's the go-to guy on this team for good-natured jocularity and razzing- a good source for relief of in-game anxiety.
  9. Yep, despite opinions to the contrary, the 25th man on any team is often called upon to step up and take the best advantage of an opportunity. Nunez has turned out to be a pretty valuable "last man on the bench."
  10. I'm wondering where are all the folks who assured us if in the unlikely event that Gardy was fired, being so universally respected around the League... he'd be hired by somebody else in a New York minute. So now with this development it seems readily apparent, the only club in a 30 team organization that is MLB- that has any interest, is the one that fired him.
  11. I would say the uptick in velocity seems to be significant. Haven't the reports always said he was a low-90s guy?
  12. Is it soon time to recalibrate Jorge's prospect status? 74 strikes in 96 pitches with 8 Ks, it seems like he was merely toying with opponent bats on Sunday. Although it seems like he's been around forever, he's still just 22, a year young for High A. Do we have any reports? Has he physically matured? Uptick in velocity? A more effective secondary pitch? The things that are happening with this Miracle starting corps are pretty encouraging.
  13. If Sano ends up causing season-ending injuries to 2 or 3 people (with one perhaps being himself), I think that its someone in the front office who endorsed this decision who needs to be committed... for psychiatric observation. [sorry, although I am against switching Sano temporarily back to 3rd due to better current available options, I just don't see how this current RF experiment ends well- even if there are, semi-miraculously, no major injuries from Sano's presence].
  14. Shoudn't that word best be stated in "quotes"?
  15. 1. Eduardo Nunez ® SS 2. Brian Dozier ® 2B 3. Joe Mauer (L) DH 4. Miguel Sano ® RF 5. Trevor Plouffe ® 3B 6. Oswaldo Arcia (L) LF 7. Byung Ho Park ® 1B 8. Eddie Rosario (L) CF 9. John Ryan Murphy ® C Nunez is apparently the new Super-Utility guy.
  16. Unfortunately, Sano is probably going to catastrophically injure 2 or 3 Twins teammates before he does himself in. ( I literally laughed out loud, when a few innings after the collision, Nunez made a 90 degree beeline away from a similar pop fly headed in Sano's general vicinity).
  17. And it was also the first time they scored 5 runs all year, as well.
  18. Did you forget to end this sentence with that /SARC thingy?
  19. Mostly true, but this Miracle staff is dominating team pitching stats in the FSL as a unit in the early-going thus far. And not only that, their numbers so far show marked improvement over the net results from last year's already terrific league-leading or near-league-leading results. For example: ERA- 1.97 (1st) [2015- 2.70 ] WHIP- 0.98 (1st) [2015- 1.19] H/9- 5.68 (1st) [2015- 7.88] K/9- 9.00 (2nd) [2015- 7.15] K/BB- 2.83 (4th) [2015- 2.50] Only 9 games in, to be sure, but this staff has a little more experience and a lot more raw talent. Look for quite a few promotions to AA between now and the ASG.
  20. Not all of us. I had a chance to see him in 2014 in a dominant performance against Louisville in August... and like many more of us... were wondering how it was possible that an inept major league pitching staff wouldn't have benefited from Meyer's presence- even Gardy had made comments, starting in spring training that year. that he would have preferred giving Meyer a major league look-see over some of the dregs that threw that season.
  21. I read this interview and grew concerned that Meyer may have a self-image problem. When I read quotes from this interview I think- "Mr. Alex Meyer- Kindergarten Teacher" - the antithesis of the throwback big league closers, so intimidating to major league hitters- ie, Rod Beck/Goose Gossage/Randy Myers/Al Hrabosky... For heaven's sake- won't somebody start feeding Alex some raw steak and teach him how to snarl like a pit bull, already?
  22. It appears that all of those rumors of his demise were greatly exaggerated. All the more impressive, as the Jays per usual, stash a bunch of guys with major league hitting experience in AAA.
