  1. Single season record for Kernels DHs in jeopardy?
  2. Gotta have one glove out there....
  3. Nailed it. Gotta keep givin' the HOFer his due props, but- like Steve Stone and Hawk Harrelson, who both at one time, oh so long ago were regarded as cutting-edge, tellin' it like it is, color guys in their own ways- ...haven't been able to update their shtick. Does it bother anyone else like it does me... when I can "say" out loud, what Bert is about to say, well before he says it, as if we were both reading from the same script?
  4. Seriously, he did the same surreptitious move with Butera last year, just sooner. It's Gardy's safety blanky. What with all the recent flurry of roster activity, I am surmising that Gardy thought he could slip this one through without much blowback.
  5. Is Cola back in the lineup tonight? It would also be nice to see Delbi Romero can get it going. Other than that, for me, it's just a check every 5 days for another Gibson shutout while he "struggles" to work on his consistency....
  6. At first glance, Wilkin seems the better hitter, better outfielder and better translator.... but maybe that's just me....
  7. +++ Now there are 3 reasons to making a nightly check on New Britain scores!
  8. Was Joe going over in detail with Morny the qualitative differences in the various settings on his Quickswing batting tee? It seems that Morny has become quite the bloop-singles swinger since he became a Mauer acolyte.
  9. May I suggest that you just PM your query to the USAFChief....? I think he has some insight on this topic....
  10. How much better, no, more awesome, would that lineup be if they had just gone out and spent just a few million bucks by signing Mark Reynolds and James Loney?
  11. Dittos! In a down year again for the parent team, hearing from JC is just the tonic. Question for Crikket...now that you're nearing the halfway point of the maiden season for the affiliate change, how's that franchise-switch working out for you and the citizens of Cedar Rapids?
  12. Day game after night game lineup- someone must have misread the start time. Gardy really in his wheelhouse now, 2nd baseman in the 2-hole for the 3rd straight day.... and 3rd catcher starting------------ 3 Catchers in the starting lineup?
  13. But then we wouldn't have had that oh-so-valuable 3rd catcher that Gardy has been pining for all season and just rewarded himself with.
  14. Is it that they are in that much fear of Red Wing AAAAers spreading their malcontent cancer? At least for the pitchers....rather than clearing out the deadwood, they sign more non-prospects and defy their own claims by readily promoting the less than worthy. I won't be a bit surprised when Hermsen or Pat Dean get the promotion nod next- hey, it's their "turn.'
  15. For Gladden, less is more.....unfortunately, dead air doesn't work well doing play-by-play.
  16. I swear, I feel like I found my long-lost, separated-at-birth sibling...
  17. So...you're essentially saying that you, and the Twins FO, have nothing substantive or objective to stand on in the claim that Butera should continue to be valued as a current plus- (or once-great in 2010?) defensive catcher?
  18. LOL. Stop it hammer, you stats guys aren't supposed to be funny, too!
  19. Excellent 2nd post.
  20. No need to get overly metaphysical. Negativity as a reaction to these 2 and 1/3 seasons of utter futility- and ineptitude- and deceptiiveness on the part of management- is normal, to be expected- and healthy. I think you do-, and I know I do-, try to find and comment on positive things surrounding this ball club whenever we can, that's also healthy.
  21. All-or-none Jim strikes again. There's little that needs to be added here to shut down this noise, the results (and former players) "speak" for itself/themselves.
  22. The link shows Baxendale starting in place of Hermsen for New Britain tonight.
  23. I presume the Taylor Rogers HBP was in response to Sano getting hit, for the 6th time this year. Sano was hit 8 times in Beloit last year for a full season. The headhunters are out! Promote him already! How many 2/1 Beers consumed before you were convinced Rogers resembled Chris Sale? Hey, the math works! I'd gladly take a 50%-Off Sale.
