  1. Lemme get this straight....
  2. RB is what's called in baseball parlance, "sneaky fast".
  3. No arguments that Correia, Burton and Guerrier should be gone next year....BUT.... the problem with ALL of them is why are they here this year? Deduno's and Pino's track records are indicative of the fact that they really have no business as anything but AAA filler/emergency depth. As is obvious if you look at all of the young arms 25 and under in the AL (KC has 5, Chicago and Detroit have 4)...most other teams would be using their innings for either helping their teams now, or for developmental time for guys that actually will be of help for them when they are more ready to contend.
  4. #### Boston DFAs Capauno, Sox now down to 7 pitchers over 30.
  5. As the arrival of our first child neared, my wife was fully intent and hard-charging on the importance of natural, medication-free child-birth. On about her second major contraction, and in an other-wordly voice, she shouted out "DRUGS!!!"
  6. I think that move will put us over the top for oldest team in baseball.
  7. RB...going out on that limb, yet again? This one burst a whole lot faster than the 2013 Albers Bubble, didn't it, though? And in answer to your second question---> DougB has the major league experience and acquitted himself well in last year's call-up. I just wish they'd just listened to me in the first place last weekend.
  8. Yep, that decision was probably made when the travel secretary related to the braintrust the cost of one-day purchase of airfare to LA.
  9. And you have that right to your opinion. But my observation was a statement of facts, nothing more, last time I checked, my work desk is pretty level. Strange area to choose to be so argumentative.
  10. The Twins already chose to play shorthanded with the 13-man staff, if Santana will only be listed as day-to-day until Monday, they have to bring up an infielder until they're sure that Plouffe/Nunez are ready to go.
  11. Beg to differ. I get notices when rotoworld and other services post the lineups. Almost invariably it's the other team first and if you scan across all the games that start during the same window that the Twins are in the Twins always are the last to post. Not a big deal, really, just an observation.
  12. Are there Voo-doo priests available in the vicinity of New Britain?
  13. Getting the Slowey-Lohse treatment. Will hold off on a final conclusion...pending crarko's effort to provide media-conspiracy-debunk-worthy optics...
  14. I scanned the AL team list of pitcher's ages. The median number for pitchers over 30 is 5.5. The Twins are of course the oldest, with 10, Boston has 8, Texas has 7. Of the 3 current best teams in the AL, Toronto has 6, Oakland and Detroit, come in under the median number, with only 5.
  15. How about in the timely fashion that almost every other organization that regularly beats Gardy to the punch?
  16. I see that he closed out an unlikely come-back win by the Miracle tonight....and I have to admit, as he was seemingly lost in the shuffle of all the bullpen arms drafted over the last 2 years, I can only recall recognizing his name in passing over it from time to time in the box scores- and nothing about his prospect status. And yet, in looking deeper at his stats, what's not to love? Combined K% around 36%- K/9 nearly 13.0, BB% a little over 5%- BB/9 2.0, IFFB% rate= 14%, WHIP 0.99 FIP 1.00. Can someone fill me in on his projectability? Is this 2 years of smoke and mirrors, or is this guy soon ready to jump yet another level?
  17. Yeah, scanning the bench player list, Gardy thought bubbles: Suzuki "I guess I gotta give him off once per week, and Pino is Fryer's boy, if he fails." Parm/Arcia "I'm pretty much picking my poison, here, aren't I?" Florimon "Was this TR's way of punishing me for insisting that he was my guy back in March?"
  18. Mike Berardino @MikeBerardino · 11m "We sent him to New Britain to get him going," Terry Ryan on Hicks Mike Berardino @MikeBerardino · 13m What is the message for Aaron Hicks with this demotion to New Britain? "There is no message," Terry Ryan said. Mike Berardino @MikeBerardino · 2m Terry Ryan has no plans to call Aaron Hicks after his option to AA. Pointed out Rob Antony talked to him over the weekend.
  19. Was the injury an obvious one, or more of a cumulative effect nature? I'd hate to see this kid have his career derailed just as he seems to be breaking out so nicely.
  20. The fact that Santana and Fuld make up the CF corps and Hicks is now optioned to NB (even though he now no longer needs PAs to adjust to RHP) says alot about in what regard the organization views Hicks at the current point in time.
  21. Eventually? How about taking a couple (metaphorical) Thompson's to the whole lot, sooner rather than later, Tom Hagen. Yeah, "business is going to suffer" for a little while, but it's something they gots to do. 10 pitchers over 30 on the 25-man/DL.
  22. If there's anything I've learned on TD.....Don't Buck the Bark!
  23. As I stated, I really liked Polanco last year when I saw him, but he has suffered from the error bugaboo in Ft Myers. I was under the impression that Gordon's ceiling was almost unlimited- and that there was an outside expert opinion that Vielma was the best athlete in the entire organization not named Buxton...... it will be quite interesting to see how this all plays out in the next 2-3 seasons.
  24. "Punitive Lohseing"? The baseball dictionary just gained a colorful new entry. I guess the Twins really showed Kyle, didn't they:
  25. Great to hear, JC. I saw Polanco last year, and I really liked what I saw at CR, but let me ask again, as I'm sure you just missed my previous post:
