    I had a two word response to someone’s post on Shelton versus Rocco. The last two years of Twins baseball was miserable, canceled my MLB subscription when he was given an extension, was the teams poor play all Rocco, absolutely not. But from my point of view they were undisciplined, poor fundamentals all over the field, his handling of SP’s, pinch hitting at weird times, I could go on…. my expectations for this year were 70-74 wins…. they’re playing damn good ball and have been fun to watch again….. hence why I believe Shelton has hands down been better.

    Hoping Zebby is one of these SP's that opposing teams need to get on early or their lockdown stuff takes over.... little shaky so far.

    Was hoping for 5 wins on this road trip, those expectations have changed…. slightly. 6 would work.

    You might be the wrong poster, if so my bad…. but aren’t you the guy arguing all last year how valuable Matt Wallner was? If that is accurate I think enough has changed,… let’s see what the defense looks like with Wallner and Lewis being where they belong, can’t bat their weight and arguably two of the worst defensive players on the team, . Sorry my view of Rocco gets you so defensive, well not really it’s my view.

    A 2019 signing....didn't realize it's been that long ago. He should be brought up if he gets healthy enough to play again, obviously a week or two at AAA, but keeping him at St.Paul is doing no good, there is a point where seeing mediocre to bad pitching in the minors isn't development.... he'll either adapt to MLB pitching or not... than the organization will have the data to know if he is part of the nucleus moving forward or another talented, , but injury prone high pick derailed by the inability to stay on the field.

    It’s night and day difference, plate approaches, defense (yesterday’s game saving relay), starting pitchers getting an extra inning or two… basic fundamental baseball… plus the job Shelton has done with this group of arms in the BP. Rocco did less with more….. IMO it’s noticeable that the effort and team first approach is different.

    You’re not gonna be able to afford Ryan, or should you, to an extension. Small market teams can win if they can identify and develop that talent that fits their overall team philosophy. What you can’t do is pay a player 35-40 million a year. Plus we have enough good team controlled arms in the rotation. You should listen to offers for everyone on the list, the one guy I would like to keep is Jeffers. And can we please stop talking about Wallner, he hasn’t had substantial trade value since 2023, maybe you could have landed a low level player at the deadline in 2024. Lewis probably close to going in the same category, just as important as identifying talent is knowing when to cut bait or the right time to trade at peak value.

    7-6=1,, yes about 4 runs light. Can the BP hold, should have everyone available.

    He’s suited for the bottom of the lineup, especially when you throw in how slow he is…Buxton!

    Lee needed a better AB there.

    A 22 y.o. guy playing his first game seems to know his strike zone better than most others on the team.

    Lee has limited range, which is bad for any SS…. but he has a strong accurate arm. Would like a little more consistent hitting out of 3rd, but could do worse if he ends up there.

    He was 15 feet from home, I don’t get what he was thinking, maybe the throw to 1st was a clue he couldn’t make 10 foot throw to the inside of home plate to get the tag applied…. It is amazing how many pitchers can’t throw the ball to a base… in this case home plate.

    They have their deficiencies, however the starting pitching is good enough to keep them hanging around the division into the summer, if nothing else one of the WC spots. Moving off of Lewis and Wallner improves the team immediately, call me surprised that the BP has improved the past week or two to hold a couple close games… no doubt that the BP could use another reliable arm…. I still believe they are a SS and OF away from having a chance to make the playoffs. Lee is alright, not a SS. The bottom line is that they have competed, don’t believe many think they could take down the Yankees or Rays in a playoff series, even if they were to make it.

    They are in a conundrum, they had a really good rotation last year…. it’s good this year, possibly better even with the loss of Lopez, , certainly deeper. The construction of the everyday lineup still is questionable…. don’t need to go into the pieces they ran back to start the season and some lower end free agents. If they are serious about going for the division they will need to add a couple of BP arms and bring up your future players from the minors to help at SS and the OF. I would do that anyway, they should have a solid rotation for several years, get Cullpepper, Rodriquez, Jenkins the experience this year, yes there will be bumps and possibly some of them needing to be sent back, but I would be building for next season and if you stay in the hunt that’s a bonus. They have the hard part set in the rotation, bringing up some of the future might also push the attendance past 5,000 a game.

    He’s 28, been given every opportunity to seize RF and has not met the moment…. at some point the decision has to be made to move on, there are other young prospects that deserve to be called up if producing in the minors, Wallner holding a 40 man spot is not good business at some point, yes a difficult situation needs to rip the bandaid off.

    Nice win, they are looking alright… a 5-5 road trip and I might have to rethink some things on what they could do in the weak AL central.

    They have given these guys plenty of time to work their way out of their hitting woes. You go a little longer if they are an A, A plus defender, not the case with Wallner and Lewis…. Keaschall’ s defense isn’t spectacular. I would give him the road trip to figure it out.

    I would run Gomez out for the 8th. That was a nice looking inning, can’t blow the win for Ryan.
