  1. You can’t blame Baldeli for this loss. What I would expect is Jax to be moved out of any close/pressure situations. This is a game you have to win when trying to claw back to .500. Jax has been unreliable all year, not a Rocco problem unless he keeps running him out in the 8th…. Not many options though.
  2. I guess my question is at what point is it acceptable to bring them up? Should Matthews be stuck at St. Paul when he is consistently putting up quality starts? As far as everyday players, if they are performing at AAA or even AA and there are underachievers at the MLB level... should they just sit in the minors while we watch the same lackluster performance and effort night in and night out? I have watched three to five players that aren't deserving at this point to be on the team. A couple of them are going nowhere due to who they are and have earned the right to work things out. But I look at Gasper, Larnach, Acalia and cannot come to any other conclusion than they are hurting the team and do not deserve to be here. Personally I would love to see 1-3 younger guys get a shot if they are performing in the minors.
  3. I'm no Rocco fan, but he played it the way should. Jax has to be better in that situation.
  4. Make this happen... can we make it retroactive to March 28 and take the 3 losses he has cost the team and move them to W column? Cannot happen soon enough IMO.... Although he has finally moved Wallner out of the leadoff spot and gone with the Jax/Duran role the last three games, it's too little too late for me.
  5. Another organizational flaw. There is zero legit reason to keep Matthews in the minors, it seems like they prioritize team control over winning and rewarding players that are performing in the minors. Much like Ober outperforming Meada a couple of years ago Matthews is clearly more deserving than Paddock and could help the team now.... Might even help with the attendance issue. Same goes with some of the OF prospects, bring them up when they are putting up consistently good numbers, this team needs a boost in energy and there's no better way to promote that then moving on from nonproductive vets and replace them with young promising prospects.
  6. That’s how you win games, sometimes defense is just as important as hitting. Nice play Bader .
  7. If you're going solely on OBP, however 16K's in 48 AB's, zero SB, not ideal leadoff numbers. Throw out runs scored because no one is hitting behind him. Ideally he is in the middle of the lineup and move Buxton to the bottom until he heats up.
  8. 100% , he has no feel for the game, whether when to pull SP’s… constantly pulling the starters that are rolling with low to manageable pitch counts because the opposing lineup is coming up for their 3rd AB, only to have his choice of reliever to immediately squander the lead…. Twice that I remember already this year. Flip flopping Jax and Duran for the closer role… here’s a f** clue… Jax is your setup man and Duran is your closer. This has cost the team a win this year. Leading off with Wallner, absolutely brilliant… not. Starting Gasper at second may have cost them a game. Point being Rocco is awful, costing the team 3 maybe 4 wins with his lame decisions, which is a 6-8 game swing. Here's another thought on pulling starters, it's not like these opposing batters haven't faced them before, multiple times, they know who they are facing as the same the pitcher is well aware of the hitters tendencies. It's asinine to handle the starters the way he does and then look for sympathy because the BP is being overused. Do the players see what most of us see? Are they playing hard and buying in for a guy that is this lost... Sorry for the rant, but it's time to pull the plug on Rocco. It's early and there is time to bring in fresh leadership, even if it's from the minors or outside the organization.
  9. I think Rocco could coach the Dodgers to a .500 record,, maybe.
  10. It’s beyond time for Rocco to be relieved of his duties. Won’t help, won’t hurt…. but a change is desperately needed.
  11. He does this all the time, yesterday wasn’t the first and won’t be the last as iIt backfires consistently. Ober is one of your most reliable pitchers and yanking him with a low pitch count is malfeasance on Rocco., don’t care how many times he has been through the order. A competitor wants to compete. You want to have someone warming up, warranted, Ober knows this is his last inning, but you don’t pull arguably most consistent starter over the past two years there. Another Rocco mismanaged situation that continues to cost the team wins is constantly flipping Jax and Duran around in the closer role. When i say he costs the team 18-20 wins a year, every blown decision is a two game swing. Might already be at 6 in the young season.
  12. Kind of like never washing your vehicle and oil changes once every 25,000 miles when the check engine light comes on, then asking top price when you go to sell it. Not holding anyone accountable for lackluster play, last year’s collapse and having a handful of players that aren’t MLB caliber currently on the roster and thinking fans and prospective buyers are going to be hyped is tone deaf at best.
  13. Rocco better let Ryan start the 8th. Don’t overthink this.
  14. An offensive explosion, nice AB TF.
  15. That a boy! Can’t stop at one or if my math is correct 7 in 7
  16. If this is the offense, they won’t finish above Cleveland or Detroit. Not sure the thought process put in to come up with this lineup.
  17. Not sure if a shutout would do it for us. In all seriousness how much pressure is there on the starters, they must think they cannot afford to give up more than a run or two.
  18. That’s the start I am used to seeing.
  19. Quite disturbing. Starting pitching was pretty decent during the losing blues last year, nothing looks encouraging to date in 25. As poor as the defense is it really doesn’t matter if you are as flawed offensively as we are. When do we play the White Sox again?
  20. Went with the monthly MLB plan , after the 0-4 start wasn’t planning on pulling the trigger until they showed some life. Of course they get the White Sox in the second series to fool me they might be alright this year… at least entertaining. This is the same crap offense we watched all last year, the monthly plan is about to end. Nice play Gaper, nice coaching Rocco, you are a joke.
  21. Ragans like any other pitcher we face, we will struggle to get base runners . Falling to 3 -8 with another lackluster offensive performance. The pessimistic side of me feels we will be 8–10 games out of first by the end of April. The optimistic side believes the leader in the division will be 5 games under .500 and we will only be 5-6 games behind.
  22. It will never change, he costs the team 10-15 games a year with his clueless pitching decisions.
  23. We are the only team that faces 162 aces,, quite remarkable
  24. Not sure they score if the infield isn’t pulled in, the worst it’s one run and the runner has to hold at second. Seems a little early to be pulling the infield in there, but that’s what the IPad says.
