  1. Not sure the year Colome was the closer, blown save after save early in the season seemed to set the tone for the rest of the season. Point being, these last two weeks have handed the team some terrible losses in multiple games that should have gone in the W column. It has to be backbreaking and a morale drain. Hoping for the Red Sox to continue their swoon is not the way to get into the playoffs.
  2. This cannot be an article to be taken seriously. In just the last two weeks his “data” driven decisions have cost the team multiple games. Said it earlier in the season, Pat Murphy, , first year coach is head and shoulders above Rocco.. He has a less talented team and gets the most out of everyone, the sign of a good manager, IMHO
  3. Maybe the goal should be not to get down 9-1. Playing some of ugliest ball of the season in September is not ideal, pulling for the teams behind us to loss instead of taking care of business is not going to cut it.
  4. Not great news on the Buxton front. In other news it seems like sending Varland down and giving Matthews a few starts is a no brainer… he looked great in his first start and could be a a reliable 4 or 5 down the stretch.
  5. I just don’t get how they can look so disinterested in an important game… it happens way too often in the final game of a series. Is the tone set from earlier in the season when Rocco uses his give away lineups like some games don’t matter.. obviously they are going to lose, but the lack of effort at times is head scratching .
  6. No thanks, the young arms can match his ceiling/poor production which and potentially blow by it.
  7. Pumped that they are giving Matthews the start. The organization has been reluctant for years to call up young promising players, for what I can only imagine is maintaining team control. If they are performing in the minors and there is a need/opening on the big league team, bring them up and see if they are ready to provide the help needed.
  8. Going into the series was hoping for a split, very deflating end to the series after the sweep on Friday. Four more games against Cleveland, hoping to still be fighting for a playoff spot come mid-September. Have to take advantage of every quality start from here with the starters we will be running out… the bats need to be better.
  9. Maybe they are good and doing what good teams do?
  10. Really cannot afford to get swept this time of the year when in a tight playoff race…. big game today, lose and you’re lose 3 games versus only losing 1 game with a win. Now 6.5 out of first in the division, tied for 2nd in the WC, with KC and Boston, Houston and Tampa bearing down on a spot. The team doing nothing at the trade deadline while the other contenders made moves to improve will make this race really difficult… no room for sweeps, no margin for error need to play the best ball the last 8 weeks of the season to make the playoffs. My enthusiasm took a gut punch yesterday with lack of urgency in getting some much needed help.
  11. You are spot on. They will be lucky to hold on to a wildcard spot. Doing nothing to improve the current roster since last winter is inexcusable and insulting to the fan base. The cheap ass owners sign Correa and then wash their hands and are comfortable with slashing the payroll. Not real sold on the BP, but another starter is badly needed to. make the playoffs, Rogers does nothing to address this area,
  12. After getting outclassed by Milwaukee they better pull one game out. There are a few teams coming at them for a wildcard spot.
  13. Rocco completely out coached by first year coach Pat Murphy. Should have taken both games and terrible decisions yet again cost the team both. This team is better than their record… the coach is holding them back.
  14. No to any of them... If you're going after a starter it needs to be one that improves the rotation, he may cost some really good propects, but with the Cubs stinking it up I would look at Justin Steele, a much needed lefty that comes with a small salary. Not sure if he is under team control in 25, but would be a nice addition.
  15. Don't think you could ask for a better left side of the infield of Correa and Lewis. Correa is a gamer. Now let's get Lee up to anchor 2nd.
  16. Doesn’t every team play with the Sam rules? We just suck in extras and have since the new rules
  17. Stop reading… seriously , do they make the playoffs in any other division? No… big part of that was “give away “ games and marginal managing decisions the first 3 -4 months of the season. Keep the Rocco glasses on… he is not a manager.
  18. I believe you need to remove Baldelli, like yesterday, to get an understanding if the whole thing needs to be blown up. I honestly believe there is talent and Rocco's approach has ruined the season. His rigid approach and I'm smarter than anyone else needs to go. It would be helpful to see if a different manager could get more out of this lineup.
  19. I just cannot understand how anyone can defend Baldelli. The team has disappointed for three years, he mismanages the lineup, pitching, refuses to play small ball when the team is in their offensive offensive scoring droughts, constantly pushes the wrong buttons. They play like admiring grade schoolers when facing the Yankees and Guardians. It is beyond disappointing. I have to look no farther then to the team immediately to our East. Living in Wisconsin I end up watching plenty of Brewer games. The entire approach, from batting to handling the bullpen, is a night and day difference. Advancing runners, stealing, solid defense, bullpen roles identified... First year coack Pat Murphy is head and shoulders a better manager then our guy... and the players like and respect him while having fun. I could argue the Twins have better talent across the board, yet look like sh** way to often for way to long of stretches. So you cannot convince me the manager doesn't make a huge difference in players approaches and attitudes.
  20. Yeah , I know... Couldn't agree more.... Just cannot stand fans that place blame on the umps and not where it belongs...
  21. We are the only team suffering from the moving strike zone.... Please just stop the nonsense! We are playing terrible baseball, it's not the umps!
  22. Blaming the HP ump could be a new low for the diehard Twins fans.... It happens way to often and is a unflattering excuse. The team cannot hit with RISP, fails at basic execution and is lead by a manager that just hasn't brought me any hope... Horrible decisions and lineups for 3 years. Cleveland is running away with the division,? only hope is they find some offense and nab a WC spot... Looking doubtful at this point
  23. The first move should be the manager.... That's not happening so any other coaching staff move is pretty much irrelevant. This team is an offensive train wreck.
