Not that I care (I guess I do or I wouldn’t be posting) but my hope is that they don’t do anything and the new owners, GM and a real manager can make the necessary decisions. I still contend this team should be better than their record and that’s on the manager. Last night is just another example of really good pitching gone to waste. In Rocco’s defense they are constructed so poorly on offense, zero team speed, terrible plate approaches and a refusal to play small ball when warranted… then throw in terrible defense and just like that you play uninspired crap baseball. Their body language says it all. So with that just hold tight and let someone else get the players to construct a competitive team.

Twins (Paddack) vs Detroit (Skubal): 6/29/25, 6:10pm
hitterscount replied to Brock Beauchamp's topic in Archived Game Threads
Cancelled MLB after the Rocco extension ( yes I'm effing showing them) and have become a Brewer bandwagon guy... and tonight's unprofessional, non-competitive approach reinforces just how undisciplined this team is, defensivey and plate approach is a joke and it starts with the manager. Not happy to say the team directly to our east isn't as talented.... but understands that the little things win games. Hopefully we are not sellers or trying to improve at the deadline, this organization is clueless. -
This is the nail in the coffin for me. Extending, quite possibly, the worst manager in the MLB just shows how checked out this ownership is. They don’t give a sh** about the product on the field. After the Correa signing everything they have done has gone against putting a quality product on the field, including keeping the clueless manager around. MLB TV cancelled at the end of the month. Living in Wisconsin I will join my wife and tuning in to the Brewers. Is it that much to ask for good clean fundamental baseball…. with Rocco that has never happened and he is rewarded with an extension.. No more for me. This style of baseball is a joke, beyond frustrating…. I’m out until some sign of accountability is made, and it should have started with the release of Rocco at the end of last season, but this front office seems to think this type of sloppy uninspired play is what we want to see every night…. Tone deaf and arrogant.

Mariners (Woo) vs Twins (Ober): 6/23/25, 6:40pm

The players absolutely know Rocco is a stiff…. this team doesn’t play for each other, zero discipline, to hell with the fundamentals and defense is optional. The lackadaisical play is on the manager…. along with all of his other questionable decisions. -
Wallner and Larnich are pretty much the same players, power approach with no results. Those two are a big reason this team sucks. I could see going into the season counting on one , but both was a mistake. And now they are bringing nothing to the roster including both being below average defenders. They epitomize what is wrong with the team. Megill walking Buxton to get to those two guys was a brilliant move by the real manager on the other side and an awful performance by those two. This team is unwatchable… but I still will even though I know better.

Week in Review: Returning to Rock Bottom

I just watched a three game series that proves strong fundamentals and good managing still exists…. and it wasn’t the Twins.- 39 replies

Someone in yesterday’s game thread identified what is missing in this team, other than a clueless manager…. They have like 7 DH’s on the field in every game. The one big issue is none of them are power or even contact hitters. There is very little team speed and the ones that can steal a base are never given the opportunity, unless the game is out of reach. The 7 DH’s in every lineup are below average fielders, lack the basic fundamentals to overcome some of their athletic non-ability and give away outs and rarely make game changing defensive plays. The pitching has been underwhelming the last 10 or so days, but overall they have held their own. Between a terrible manager and a philosophy on offense that doesn’t remotely match the talent we are likely in for a brutal end to the rest of the season. I for one would like to see Rocco relieved and replaced with a minor league manager, send down or release every player not given 100% or falls into the DH category that can’t hit or play defense, so like half the everyday players, and let the guys performing in the minors get moved up to see what you have and who can be moved come the trade deadline. What we have watched the last 5 of 6 games is a disgrace to professional MLB. players and organizations. Thank you for allowing this long ass much needed rant.

Twins (Ryan) vs Astros (Brown): 6/14/25, 3:10pm

This is absolutely a joke. Correa watching a fastball strike 3 knee high middle of the plate, Lee taking deep breath’s like he’s facing a firing squad. Wish the winning streak never happened, could have tuned out a month ago. -
He can put up numbers similar to what Ober did yesterday… so no thanks and thank you to the CWS for taking him. This is about to get ugly in a hurry. The offense is not going to help and the starting rotation is fading. As the competition in the next several series is getting tougher hanging around.500 would be a win.

Now the offense is just going through the motions… pathetic and unprofessional approaches. -

Two outs nobody on, they manage to get 4 runs. Bases loaded no one out with our 1, 2,3 hitters.... nothing. We are playing some really putrid baseball. Houston might just take back to .500 -

Just posted yesterday quit bitching about the umps and strike zone BS. What I am watching is strike zone malpractice. Regardless you can't, shouldn't, get swept at home.... don't care if Toronto is playing well. -

Defense wins games, and need some offense, at this point Wallner cost them Fridays game and that was a play you need to make at he MLB level. Terrible read and it cost the team a run... which could be the difference today. -
The umpire argument/excuse is beyond weak, it is so tiring to hear it after 90% of the losses.... Couldn't catch the game, however it sounds like better defense from Wallner or a clutch hit somewhere and Ober and the team gets the W. Take care of business and control what you can and then the big bad umps won't impact the outcome, because missed strikes go both ways.

Festa doesn't look like a MLB starting pitcher at this point, hasn't all season. Matthews, was pulled after a little over 70 pitches last night, granted wasn't missing many bats, but he looks like he will be a solid starter moving forward. Will need SWR or Festa to step it up. There could be a lot of flipping between the two until , hopefully, one takes to the opportunity and seizes the moment. Cannot afford another injury to one of the starters.... How quickly things change!

A trade should happen if they are remotely serious about making a deep playoff run. 27-4 when they score 4 or more runs, 4-22 when they can't muster that mark. We've seen enough of this offense to know it's what it is. We could use help at 3rd, maybe second or even a DH. This rotation is borderline elite, the BP is really good. One proven productive bat and possibly a mid-level player with speed that is a contact guy would make this team dangerous and set-up for a nice playoff run. My only hesitation is if they can't catch Detroit the WC games are tough if you can't get home field. So, the sooner this get done the better.... my head tells me in typical Twin MO nothing gets done.
