  1. Larnach is making plays in LF where Wallner would be running to the wall to get the ball in hopes of holding runners to a double.... Larnach is no gold glove, but nowhere as bad defensively as Wallner.
  2. This has been who Bradley is, a great game scattered in with short starts and getting pounded, usually when he can't throw strikes. I don't know how you teach control.
  3. That won't work.... even the Miz struggled last year when he couldn't throw strikes, and his stuff is elite.
  4. It’s like I said in last night’s thread, he’s a chucker not a pitcher. His stuff is good enough to be a serviceable starter, however he has zero command of his pitches, the ability to work the strike zone. Lately he has limited control, the ability to even throw strikes. Command and control aren’t the same…. control being able to throw strikes with command having the ability to locate pitches where you want. If Bradley could just throw strikes he gas good enough velocity and movement to be effective.. … he just can’t do it consistently and why Tampa let him go.
  5. Agree, I would keep running him out… but I don’t expect much different. He’ll have his moments , but his control is the issue, always has been.
  6. This is who Bradley is…. he should be better than he is, and occasionally will string a few nice starts together to give you hope but he has little command of the zone. He’s a chucker that throws balls at the plate and when not throwing strikes is not very good. Tampa gave him every opportunity to stay in the rotation, what we are seeing is why they gave up.
  7. I'm probably in the minority, but I have zero issues with Clemens, the guy plays hard, plays the right way and is a good defensive player. He's also hitting so that's a bonus. With that said ideally he is a utility guy that gets 3-5 starts a week or come in as a late game defensive substitution..... if they ever have a chance at getting a win again.... sarcasm of course. What we don't need is 5 utility type guys on the roster.... and of course Wallner.
  8. Tuned after 7 lifeless innings from the offense. Not sure what's worse taking a 9 inning drubbing or fallen 1 run short in a comeback attempt. Regardless this homestand pretty much ended the Twins thoughts of sticking in the WC hunt. Also, what is with the talk of bringing back Wallner, Lewis is inspiration by going 1-7 since being called back..... a walk or a hard hit ball are signs he is back.... although 1-7 does raise his average... this is the most disturbing news from the series, more Wallner talk..... just don't get it.
  9. Some competitive AB’s…. checking out until Tuesday….. unless some of the young guys are called up soon MLB will be cancelled at the end of the month…. forced to watch the Brewers I guess… barf.
  10. A lot of optimism with "mediocre" describing the roster.
  11. That's a wrap... lose 3 of 4 to the last place Royals... circle this series as the end of the season having any real meaning.... now they have the excuse to keep Cullpeper down until . September
  12. Quite possible Prielipp got all the run support he’s going to get… this Cameron guy is one of the best.
  13. An outfield of Kreidler, Martin and Clemens..... not ideal. Why is Larnach sitting with an off day tomorrow? To get Lewis'' big bat in the lineup I assume.
  14. Was on the road Thursday and Shelton was a guest on one of the MLB radio shows. He is well spoken, easy to root for and I like his booze stash in his office. There were discussions on , not sure his or the front office or both, on player positions and starting pitching philosophies. He had different takes. He specifically stated he likes versatility in his everyday players. Sounded like he believes they should be interchangeable, playing anywhere that is needed in the field. Talked about Clemens, Arcia, Lee, Lewis and more..... I am not saying anything bad about him, but I don't understand this approach. We see more games than not where the defense is botching plays, whether there is an error associated or not. Today's game was a great example.... a missed DP that couldn't have been easier to turn. It's really hard to blame Lewis for failed execution, he's not ready to play the position and to put him there is a disservice to him and the team. The failed DP cost Ryan extra pitches and stress that shouldn't have been needed. Than the sac fly that ended up being the winning run.... When it was caught the initial thought was the runner would be thrown out by 10 feet. Moving ifrom first to LF should be easy, but you don't see that move often, or maybe Clemens arm is just that weak... if that's the case he's not OF material. On the starting pitching. He wish he didn't have to use BP starts, would love to have 5 starters he could count on, but injuries have derailed that ability. And he was pretty clear that he was on board with cutting ties with SWR. Nothing negative, just it was time for both sides to part ways. Hopefully Abel and Ober are back soon. An interesting interview, and a little insight in someone's philosophy, whether him or the organization that these guys need to be able to play multiple positions to give the team options. I think it's a mistake, but that's why I'm on the computer and not coaching.
  15. It's easy to believe these athletes are the best of the best while playing the game most of their lives and from playing the game that they automatically understand the fundamentals of baseball, it's clear there is a significant portion that don't. It seems like time in spring training should be focused on other areas, however not understanding the most basic concepts have cost this team multiple games.... it's time to get this organization back to solid fundamental baseball....at every level.
  16. Boy he still looks lost, just a little…. they didn’t deserve this game. Beginning to believe.500 ain’t happening this season.
  17. He couldn’t o got more lift on it… release him…. in all seriousness release Belll before Tuesday.
  18. So the odds were with us…. still Witt or Pasquanitino,… in that same situation I walk Witt every time.
  19. Not sure why you’re pitching to their best player there with fist open…. head scratcher
