  1. I’m struggling to believe this cast of castoffs in the BP have actually been effective for a week now.
  2. C’mon Gomez , I. vouched for you to get this inning…that a boy!
  3. I would run Gomez out for the 8th. That was a nice looking inning, can’t blow the win for Ryan.
  4. At least no one is in the stadium to witness what we did
  5. So far a lifeless performance after a nice win yesterday. Getting shut out by this guy is ugly. Another good effort by a starter hate to waste another one.
  6. Listening to MLB walking the dogs today and the discussion was about holding young talent down in the minors… many teams are bringing their high performers up earlier with the belief that they will not develop further at AAA because the pitching isn’t as good as was even a few years ago. A lot of GM’s believe you don’t get better facing 1 MLB caliber arm every 4-5 days. With that, both Lewis and Wallner could look good, doesn’t guarantee it will translate to this team. IM0 both have been given every opportunity, Wallner especially, throw in his defensive limitations and I just don’t see it. Lewis… maybe, he looked so good in ‘23, but his time is running out. Holding back up and coming talent to wait and see if they can get their sh** together is getting old., just my two cents.
  7. Not a good look there…not one strike that he swung at
  8. I was trying to be positive, however you’re probably right…. still 40-50 points better than Lewis and hopefully can make some contact to advance runners when that opportunity is available.
  9. Arcia will be good for a while, he knows this could be his last shot…. I think he will provide solid AB’s , but eventually he he will come down to the means…. a .230 hitter that is on the decline with defense and his overall game. If Cullpepper keeps producing at AAA he needs to be brought up, he’s clearly a guy that could be an everyday player who’s young and the future.
  10. Have said since the winter meetings and spring training including after the Lopez injury, they have a rotation that is good enough to be a winning team. The problem is that the areas that will hold them down is the OF, 1st, SS and a terrible BP. Clemens has stabilized 1st, Lee has become a average SS (probably better suited for 2nd or 3rd) and Larnach has been pretty good., which is why they are IMO over performing. The BP is statistically bottom tier but performed well last night and the Milwaukee series. Defense at times has been sketchy, but dumping Wallner helps. Overall the D has been alright. Zero expectations for me, the sh** show I expected isn’t there, they look competent and aren’t as bad as I would have guessed… so I will continue the MLB subscription for a bit… but yo contend for the division there are moves that need to be made….mainly 3rd, shoring up the OF and addressing the BP. That’s a lot to fix midseason.
  11. Kind of rigid approach here , can't let him try to get through the 5th and get the win.... being at 46 pitches, kind of a Rocco move.
  12. Should have taken 2 of 3, the one game we deserved to lose we win…. thats baseball
  13. Not much deeper on the fly yesterday we didn't score on.
  14. Arcia isn't the answer, especially long term.... but agree, he very well could come up and give the team a boost in production for a couple of months and by then Cullpeper should be ready..... Guessing they want to maintain team control knowing this team isn't a serious threat to do anything.
  15. They've been the least of the issues this series, actually been pretty good. Knock on wood.... Two more innings to go.
  16. At some point it's the organization that keeps running Lewis out there. He has no clue what he's doing,.... you can tell as these are 3 pitch strikeouts, the pitchers absolutely know that they don't need to throw strikes. I'm done piling on him... it's managerial malpractice to keep playing him.
  17. Let's walk the 8th hitter with his .190 average....
  18. What do you know a little defense.... maybe Royce's glove will ignite the bat.
  19. Sending Wallner and him to AAA is taking away opportunities from someone that deserves to be there.
  20. Worse is the players also know it, although there's 3-4 other guys struggling just as bad. You're not going to win consistently with this much plate incompetence..... I guess most of us knew this coming out of spring training.
