    We were robbed…. these cash consideration acquisitions never materialize. Just like keeping Culpepper in the minors they will keep running him out.

    Pretty sure there was a thread promoting sending him down…. he is near the bottom of this teams issues. Like Preliepp, Bradley let him play and try to figure it out, you will know by the end of the season if these are guys that will be part of the future.

    I was skeptical of Lewis getting his sh** together at AAA, he definitely has more confidence and has been smoking the ball and doesn’t appear to be mopey from the move to first, kudos to him…. now get Cullpepper up, watching Arcia and Gray is frustrating.

    I believe that they need to keep going with Matthews, he has the arsenal to be a serviceable starter. There's two ways for him to get there, better command of the strike zone or an uptick in velocity. I don't have the numbers/data, but it seems when he is pitching effectively he is hitting 97-98, when he's getting torched his four seamer seems to be in the 94-95 range, huge difference in missing bats if he could maintain the higher velocity, it makes his offspeed pitches more effective. If he's just filling the strike zone with 94 mph fastballs he will continue to struggle unless he develops better command. Big year for him, hopefully he takes the next step.

    Especially if there’s a spot for them to play We currently have 3, maybe 4 underperforming 30 y.o. plus utility players that could be swapped out.

    Ryan not looking good. Sweep looking like it could be on the way. So much to be down on with this team, one more thing that doesn’t make much sense to me…the batting order. Not sure why you lead off Larnach, wouldn’t someone with some speed make more sense? Buxton has 21 HR’s and 33 rbi’s maybe batting him 3rd some of those HR’s would have someone on base…. there’s more but watching Gray make a 8th grade mistake is too demoralizing.

    I’ll give this game 3-4 innings, then they will likely be down. Than back to the Brewers game where in the first two innings of the game Misorowski has 5 k’s and hit 104 multiple times while being able to throw strikes consistently….. made me wonder if he would be able to win with this lineup. I can’t stand Milwaukee, but they play the game the right way. I can only hope we can get remotely close somehow.

    I never said he was playing well, however hardly anyone is playing "well". You could send down or DFA 1/2,of the position players, Kreidler, Arcia, Bell, Gray, Jackson, Carantini, Martin and Larnach have dropped off significantly...Lee is average, there's nothing to work with. Point being is this season is over, I am willing to give a player like Keaschall the time to see if he can figure it out, he's young and was part of the future, same for Martin and Lee.... sending Keaschall down doesn't all of a sudden make this team competitive..... then there is a below average starting rotation and BP to figure out.

    I'm not sure what this organization does well. I was one that believed that the starting rotation was the strength of the team, even after the Lopez injury. However, Ober's velocity never made it back into the low 90's and now injured again, Abel injured and much like Bradley cannot seem to find the strike zone consistently. Ryan has been really good, unfortunately one reliable starter won't get it done. A lineup with 5-6 utility players in their 30's is not serious. Another 1st base signing of a decent player 5-6 years ago leaves another hole.... at least Santana could play defense. The philosophy of moving guys around the field is lame and leads to the downfalls seen to often in the form of shoddy defense. Then there is the minors, there's Cullpeper who they refuse to call up and a bunch of injured players. I have concerns that if you can't stay healthy as a 20-22 y.o. in the minors you will have problems in the majors on top of stunting development by not playing Some promising position guys if they can stay healthy for any length of time.... however, the pitching pipeline is weak. The Brewers, Rays, and now the White Sox seem to have figured out how to stay competitive with a small budget, we are no where near fielding a competitive team.

    He was hitting MLB pitching when called up last season, pitching has adjusted how they pitch him, now comes the crossroad for most MLB players, is he able to adjust, he certainly has the tools to do so …. he’s not correcting anything at AAA because 90% of the pitchers aren’t at a MLB level.

    Tuned in to the typical last game of the series offensive offense. Time to put the beer back and find some busywork for a bit.

    At first thought this headline was a joke….. Keaschall is hitting around 80 points higher than Lewis and Wallner when they were sent down. His OPS is significantly higher than what Wallners was, not sure about Lewis. The fact is you are not going to reset against AAA pitching, unless you’re a head case that needs a mental reset to build confidence, that isn’t the case here. He’s fine, more worried about his defense… hopefully it improves. Finally, calling Culpepper up to play second? No thanks. It’s past time Culpepper replaces Gray, Arcia at SS. This lineup has issues, Keaschall is near the bottom of them.

    Larnach is making plays in LF where Wallner would be running to the wall to get the ball in hopes of holding runners to a double.... Larnach is no gold glove, but nowhere as bad defensively as Wallner.

    This has been who Bradley is, a great game scattered in with short starts and getting pounded, usually when he can't throw strikes. I don't know how you teach control.

    That won't work.... even the Miz struggled last year when he couldn't throw strikes, and his stuff is elite.

    It’s like I said in last night’s thread, he’s a chucker not a pitcher. His stuff is good enough to be a serviceable starter, however he has zero command of his pitches, the ability to work the strike zone. Lately he has limited control, the ability to even throw strikes. Command and control aren’t the same…. control being able to throw strikes with command having the ability to locate pitches where you want. If Bradley could just throw strikes he gas good enough velocity and movement to be effective.. … he just can’t do it consistently and why Tampa let him go.
