  1. He can put up numbers similar to what Ober did yesterday… so no thanks and thank you to the CWS for taking him. This is about to get ugly in a hurry. The offense is not going to help and the starting rotation is fading. As the competition in the next several series is getting tougher hanging around.500 would be a win.
  2. Now the offense is just going through the motions… pathetic and unprofessional approaches.
  3. Two outs nobody on, they manage to get 4 runs. Bases loaded no one out with our 1, 2,3 hitters.... nothing. We are playing some really putrid baseball. Houston might just take back to .500
  4. Just posted yesterday quit bitching about the umps and strike zone BS. What I am watching is strike zone malpractice. Regardless you can't, shouldn't, get swept at home.... don't care if Toronto is playing well.
  5. Defense wins games, and need some offense, at this point Wallner cost them Fridays game and that was a play you need to make at he MLB level. Terrible read and it cost the team a run... which could be the difference today.
  6. You cannot get swept at home that puts you on a four game losing streak. Just won't work if you want to make the playoffs much less catch Detroit.
  7. The umpire argument/excuse is beyond weak, it is so tiring to hear it after 90% of the losses.... Couldn't catch the game, however it sounds like better defense from Wallner or a clutch hit somewhere and Ober and the team gets the W. Take care of business and control what you can and then the big bad umps won't impact the outcome, because missed strikes go both ways.
  8. Festa doesn't look like a MLB starting pitcher at this point, hasn't all season. Matthews, was pulled after a little over 70 pitches last night, granted wasn't missing many bats, but he looks like he will be a solid starter moving forward. Will need SWR or Festa to step it up. There could be a lot of flipping between the two until , hopefully, one takes to the opportunity and seizes the moment. Cannot afford another injury to one of the starters.... How quickly things change!
  9. A trade should happen if they are remotely serious about making a deep playoff run. 27-4 when they score 4 or more runs, 4-22 when they can't muster that mark. We've seen enough of this offense to know it's what it is. We could use help at 3rd, maybe second or even a DH. This rotation is borderline elite, the BP is really good. One proven productive bat and possibly a mid-level player with speed that is a contact guy would make this team dangerous and set-up for a nice playoff run. My only hesitation is if they can't catch Detroit the WC games are tough if you can't get home field. So, the sooner this get done the better.... my head tells me in typical Twin MO nothing gets done.
  10. Giving Rocco credit for letting Paddock go.... you don't hear that every day from me. Rocco stepping up his managerial skills.... Like it.
  11. Has to be extremely frustrating. We need a hitter added to this team... Sooner than later.
  12. If you could get a Gunnar Henderson or that type of young player with some team control with one of those three, pitchers, a top prospect and Lewis, do it. They have Ryan, Ober and Lopez coming back. This window of high quality pitching cannot last long with FA coming into play after next season.
  13. Been saying this all season. Now they are back at .500, actually comfortably over, and in the playoff hunt… trading Festa or Matthews and another prospect for a proven bat would make a huge difference in the offense. This pitching staff is for real, need to go for it while they are still together and affordable.
  14. I have been steady all season, calling for the dismissal of Rocco (which I now retract), believing we have a top 1/3 rotation and above average closer and weren’t going to be able to muster any consistent offense to win series and get back to.500. Finally was able to watch most of this series and they are a different team. Not sure what has changed, Lewis , non-factor, Castro solid utility guy… Rocco a more traditional approach. Im back and ready to enjoy the season regardless of results… except yankees, we need to compete against them.
  15. Hockey players they are not. Regardless playing great fundamental ball, I will eat crow after being a downer for most of the early season. They have become a very entertaining team to watch. Ill keep MLB for the future.
  16. What an outside the box idea…. bringing up your young talent that are producing in the minors. Some organizations just seem to be more interested in trying to reward production at the minor league level rather than letting them sit for years.
  17. I would think you start by brining up players that are performing in the minors. There are several candidates/options. But like many floundering organizations they value team control over on field performance.
  18. Game probably over, professional approach by the top of their order.... Something we know nothing about.
  19. Why is Lewis still in St.Paul? Let him rehab with the team. Gasper, Julien, , Clemens... I don't care who he replaces, when he can play Lee can go to second and the defense is automatically upgraded. Plus he will probably hit over .140, it's a win win.
  20. I agree about batting cleanup, but he has been looking pretty decent lately, for our low standards, I would go 2nd or 3rd.
  21. I'm not convinced that the talent is the issue. I would take this starting rotation over 3/4 of the league... maybe more. They have a reliable closer and an adequate BP. The position players are playing dbelow average, at least for now. But I don't believe they should be playing sub .400 ball the past 5 months, not with this rotation and the quality starts they usually deliver.... and that is my reasoning for removing Rocco. Hell, most experts had us winning the division, it's not going to happen with Rocco.
  22. I like Rocco, the heartwarming story on the child cancer patient and Rocco having him at the ball park was awesome..... However, whether it's BP usage, pulling SP early, leading off with M. Gasper, w/l record in 1 run and extra inning games would suggest it's time to move on. The end of last season and the start of the 25 season just validates how bad things are. So the game Tuesday night is irrelevant, it's just Rocco being himself... a below average major league manager
  23. If someone has the will, I would be curious of Rocco’s record in 1-2 run games and extra innings. It has to be one of the worst in MLB the past 2-3 seasons.
