  1. There's a little more background on Stewart's diabetes in this article: http://www.thegazette.com/subject/sports/blogs/diamonds-and-ice-by-jeff-johnson/despite-dealing-with-diabetes-kernels-stewart-excels-20140616 Been dealing w/ it since 3rd grade so for 10 or 11 years, I'd guess.
  2. Mike Berardino ‏@MikeBerardino 2m #MNTwins might still be able to get a lower-level prospect for Kubel if they cover all but pro-rated minimum going forward. Worth a shot.
  3. Mike Berardino ‏@MikeBerardino 14m #MNTwins have NOT released Jason Kubel, I'm told. http://MLB.com transactions are wrong. Have until close of biz Tuesday
  4. My deepest sympathy to his wife, children, grandchildren, extended family and legions of fans. I would like to see baseball take "Stand Up to Cancer" seriously rather than just as an ad slogan. They provide good funding for many types of cancer research through their efforts but just as important is matching actions to rhetoric. So yes, ban chew at all levels. But also be aware of what you do -- I was incensed when the Twins made a public presentation of a humidor to Gardenhire for his 1,000th win. Tobacco is tobacco -- and it isn't good in any form.
  5. Great Stuff!!! Bremer made the comment yesterday that Nolasco has been victimized by his outfielders. First, can we remove the word "victimized" from Bremer's vocabulary? Second, yep, Nolasco was hurt by his outfielders but guess what? He mostly been hurt by the fact that HE HASN'T PITCHED WELL. Give Dick a new script. I love watching Morales run. Chug, chug, chug!! It's like watching an 1880's steam engine go around the bases.
  6. Mostly I tune them out as well. I think it would be fun if they would just open up the mikes and broadcast the sounds of the game a few times a year. They could do a little studio update between innings just to keep things on track but forget the talking heads on occasion.
  7. It really sounds like he trusts Arteaga. I'm impressed with the maturity he shows in knowing that he has to trust the plan for him.
  8. Wish Arcia had got that.
  9. Somehow fitting that a Willy catch should end that 1/2 inning after a Torii catch ended the last.
  10. Morales.... gotta love him.
  11. I'm sure that dive is just what Dozier's back needed.
  12. The South Dakotans could help w/that.
  13. Well, I'd have to drive 11 miles. Too much work.
  14. "N" s make so much difference.
  15. Snepp and Circus Boy are both South Dakotans???
  16. Darren Wolfson ‏@DarrenWolfson 1h Buxton wrist update: progress as he's been able to hit off a tee two days in a row. BP coming soon. Shouldn't be a lost year. #mntwins
  17. Well, you could be right.... I'm not the official etymologist here.
  18. Pretty much a milder version of Ick (at least in my mind).
  19. Morales is like a steam engine .... chug, chug, chug.
  20. Gibby's comment was really ICK -- a step up (or down if you will) from ISH.
  21. Tigers' fielding .... gotta love it!
  22. Hmmm... and I thought they moved London to Arizona.
  23. Nobody said Manilow knew his geography.
