Not getting my hopes up about any sort of "splash" move to improve the rotation. I'm becoming resigned to the reality that we're settling into an American League landscape that will be dominated by Houston, New York, and Boston (once they sign J.D.) for the next several years. Just look at the moves they're making to improve already stacked rosters. Too bad all our young guys are coming of age during this same time frame. It's an arms race and the Twins haven't done nearly enough to keep pace. Things can obviously change, and quickly, especially if one of our young pitching prospects "boom" or Berrios transforms into a legit #1. Here's to hoping that happens!

Interesting Read: http://www.twincities.com/2017/12/12/relationship-with-twins-gm-thad-levine-could-be-game-changer-for-yu-darvish/ Says in here that Darvish reached out to Gimenez over Thanksgiving to discuss Twins and the city.

Jordan Gorosh, a scout for Baseball Prospectus was at the Kernels game last night and had a glowing review of Stewart. Here are a few of his tweets: Nothing. FB has life. SL is sharp. RT “@TravisAune: @JGoro8 what do you make of [stewart's] lack of strikeouts?” "Top MWL P's I've seen in person so far this year, in order: Stewart, Shipley, Reyes, Tseng, Crawford, guillon" @JGoro8 "Stewart's night is through after 6. Big upside. Likely the MWLs best pitching prospect. Combination of stuff, polish, athleticism #twins" @JGoro8 "Kohl Stewart out there playing 95 mph catch #twins" @JGoro8 "Stewart with a better 2nd. 93-95 with arm side run. Life. 84-86 sharp slider. Swing and miss pitch. 79 CB. More comfortable w SL" @JGoro8 "Stewart 93-96 in the first. Not much fastball command yet, but ball comes out so easy. Couple SL at 87. One CB at 77 #twins" @JGoro8

13 hits allowed in 40 innings pitched and only 1 earned fun allowed all year? Holy &%*$, my mind is unable to compute those numbers!

Outstanding start by Meyer, he gets some consistency and he could really be one to watch. In the MiLB writeup about the game, they have a video from one of his previous starts, that slider is nasty Meyer tinkers with delivery, ends skid | MiLB.com News | The Official Site of Minor League Baseball
