  1. Trout was actually pretty crappy last year.
  2. Ugh.....The Yankees are a terrible example to compare the Twins to. The Yankees build their teams through spending $200+ million a year to top free agents etc.
  3. Interesting tidbit about the drafting of Revere, like he said a bunch of people stuck their necks out on that one and currently it seems like it was the right pick. However I still wonder if we could have grabbed him in the 2nd round instead.
  4. I know John mentioned that he had heard this all went above the GM as well when they signed him, part of me wonders if Ryan isn't being allowed to cut Nishioka himself since there is still a decent 5+ million investment in him at this point. Maybe "showcasing" him is the best thing that can happen so it allows them to cut him soon.
  5. Just think of how good morale will be when they dump him! Also perhaps the only silver lining on this will be to open the Twins eyes and the Twins pitcher's eyes to "holy hell, we should probably start striking people out more"
  6. I understand the blame being put on the scouts to some degree, but let's be honest. Nishioka still won a batting title in Japan and was considered at the very least an average fielder(he wont gold gloves-i know i know, not a huge deal, but still, many reports said he was a slick fielder), nobody could have expected he would be this putrid in the field and at the plate when he came over. At the very worst they/we all thought he would be a Punto type player with possibly a little less defense. I have to imagine he isn't the same player he was in Japan, at this point I'd have to think Sano would be a better 2B/SS defensively then him at this point. Yes, it was a very bad signing, yes our scouts dropped the ball. But at what point do you point the finger at the real person to blame? And that is Nishioka himself. The dude has no business being on a major league, AAA or AA ball field at this point. People can feel "bad" for him all they want, basically screw him, he's getting paid a lot of money and he is looking completely lost out on the diamond. He should feel bad for his play out there. It's a lost season anyways, so I hope that is the reason why Ryan wanted to "see what they have" one last time before kicking his ass to the curb. If this team was anywhere near contention I imagine they would have called up Escobar. Either way, I can't see Nishi lasting for more then 5 more games unless he does a complete 180 as a ball player.
  7. It sounds like Gardy might be sending a message to the front office. "Stop sending me garbage to the major league lineup, if you are going to send me crap I will showcase them and show everyone just how bad they are" I sorta wonder if he is pissed that a guy like Gray is still on the major league team as well.
  8. I doubt it would get lower then a NC-17 rating due to disturbing content.
  9. I will pass along your thoughts to the writer, director, producer of the film.
  10. Juan Castro, who is still dead last on the Baseball Reference voting thingy.
  11. Why don't they move Pineda up to Eliz?
  12. To be fair DPJ hate(d)/(s) most every move the Twins make.
  13. I liked the move as well.
  14. http://i48.tinypic.com/2hex9nk.png
  15. I would have given him credit for that.
  16. Found this online [video=youtube;Q3b5aOelFL4] Looks like Twinsdaily makes a cameo around the 2:40 mark
  17. You know, it's really to bad the Twins played so terribly the past 6-7 games against the white sox. If they would have won a few of those games we could be looking at a potential miracle run into the playoffs.
  18. Rocketpig!?!? What happened? It's like I don't even know you anymore Also my best work was when I predicted the Twins would win the division down 3 games with 4 to play.
  19. Twins will finish with at least 78 wins. Willingham will hit 40 HR Mauer will win Comeback player of the year award. Mauer and Revere will be 2/3 in the BA title. Morneau ends up hitting for an OPS over .840 One of DeVries/DeDuno/Walters will prove to be a starting pitcher we can count on in 2013.
  20. Fantastic night for a good number of our top prospects. Hicks with number 12 on the year and had a great night overall. Hells yeah. Sano with a triple tonight as well.
  21. http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_CajufBiDrks/TGrOKjtNRyI/AAAAAAAABTE/AXAZqnHH8RI/s1600/cinema.majorleague.groundskeepers.jpg
  22. NISHIOKA!!!!!!! Valenica would have struck out there.
  23. Where have we heard this before...
  24. I want to like him, I just don't see how he can keep it up.
