  1. Oh God, don't even think it/say it.
  2. Once again, this seems like an ideal place to use a PH for Suzuki...
  3. Some would argue that they should send him out for 7 or 8 every 5th day
  4. As long as he stays clear from the StatFreak top ten mental midgets rankings, I think he will be fine.
  5. Wow, that was a terrible at bat. Eddie needs to step up his approach if he wants to go from "solid" to good/great as a ballplayer.
  6. To be fair, it was never a Hardy vs Hooey decision, it was a Hardy vs Nishioka decision. Disaster either way though.
  7. I don't either. But his struggles last season definitely hurt the team overall (offensively) and he didn't really make any strides in Spring Training as well. Again, it's not the worst thing in the world to have him on the roster at this stage (they didn't have any other options at this stage) but I feel they could have handled him a bit better.
  8. Color me impressed with Mauer's "pull" approach this spring.
  9. Every time I see David Ortiz hit another home run, I wonder how many Pizza's Matt Lecroy has eaten this week.
  10. 3 strike outs in 3 at bats, I mean yeah he looks "better" but he still looks over-matched, I think he is going to be a damn great player overall (he already is a stud defensive CF) but I really think he could use some confidence at the dish with some AAA time, I mean, he struggled last year, and struggled in spring training, none of this is surprise. But at some point you need even your #9 hitter to produce a bit. I'm not worried about his career, I am worried about how much he make hurt this team at the plate the first couple months of the year. I for one am looking for this team to make the playoffs, if it was a given we were a 90 loss team heading into the season, then I wouldn't worry.
  11. Buxton is over-matched at this stage of his career, this is going to be a rough few months for him.
  12. So I know it "sorta" worked out, but what is the point of rostering Arcia at this point if you won't bring him in to hit for Suzuki there against a RHP? Isn't one of the reasons why we got Murphy is that he can handle his own behind the dish and at the plate? I know it's "game one" but you need to manage game one just like it's game 30, 60 or 100.
  13. Wow I take my dog out to go the bathroom and I come back tied? Rally Cap? That is so 2015, Rally **** is where its at!
  14. Ah yeah, I guess it was Saturday. But Tonkin pitched 50 in a game yesterday.
  15. One question: When you know opening day is the next day, what is the point on using any of your major league bullpen arms in the last exhibition game of the season? Especially when said game had a 60-80% chance of rain.
  16. We are fine, in his heart Brock knows he agrees 100% with me. He just has to remain neutral these days.
  17. Yeah, I still think starting him in the majors this year is a mistake. I would have liked to see him get some confidence in AAA for a few weeks at the very least. Could have signed Span, could have kept Hicks etc to provide OF/CF depth in meantime.
  18. To follow up, you can call this over-reacting all you want. I knew well before this appearance (as did most others) that Fien is not a good pitcher, he has a 3.81 career XFIP in the majors (3.72 as a Twin) and is past the point where he has any real upside. Giving that guy a bullpen spot, much less a key role in the bullpen on a "contending" team is a recipe for a disaster. This terrible 2/3rds of an inning is just further proof. 3.81 is pretty terrible for a RP btw. Ditto with putting Sano in RF
  19. Abad was AOk there. Fien owes him a steak dinner after the game.
  20. Good point, it's a great thing these April games don't count as much as those August and September games. Good thing we wasted Tonkin yesterday in a meaningless spring training game, I mean pretty much everyone knew that it was likely that it was going to rain one of these three games in Baltimore. Overall though, I think the best thing that can happen to this team is that the mediocre guys like Nolasco, Fien flame out ASAP so the Twins can cut bait sooner rather than later.
