  1. Sigh, here is the deal, nobody is happier than me that the Twins have played well lately. 1. I have been banned for the last week. Otherwise I would have been here celebrating with the rest of you. Also, Vodka is nasty, the only time I drink it is when it is in a bloody mary/bloody Caesar, I am a bourbon/rye fan myself, and not crappy whiskey, good whiskey, in fact I am in the middle of purchasing a whole set up to make a little bit. (Scotch is ok as well, it is definitely an acquired taste that I am trying to get into more and more) 2. I eat, sleep, breathe, bleed Twins just as much as any of you here. 3. I was one of the most optimistic people on this board overall the past few years (and at BYTO to be honest). Especially when it came to Ryan and Gardy. 4. I have been in Vegas and Canada the past 7 days, and the Twins are a big reason why I have managed to win $1500 or so the past week due to bets on them and various parlays, 5 wins in a row as an underdog (several times as a very heavy dog is awesome!) Nothing like quadruple dipping (Work Trip= Salary+Expenses+Hotel/Airline/CC points+Gambling wins!) 5. I win $15,000 off of $135 worth of bets if they win the world series and $5,000 if they make the world series. So no, the Twins being on a winning streak does not make me "unhappy" 6. I have been to Twins playoff games every year they have made it since 1991. Even though I haven't lived within 500 miles of Minneapolis at any point in my life. If they make it again this year, I will be there again as well. My fandom shouldn't be questioned. Period. Go Twins! Buxton+Sano= 5-0 Call up Berrios, like now. Escobar gets a temporary reprieve from me, he has apparently looked solid.
  2. The best contract Ryan has signed in the past few years has been the Dozier one, and that one isn't even that great since it didn't buy out any free agent years and at best saves the twins a few million dollars. Every other contract has been pretty much between "meh to poor" But it hasn't doomed the Twins, it is part of the reason but not the full reason, they still have payroll flexibility but refuse to pull the trigger on any legitimate trade. Those two things combined have doomed this franchise to one of the biggest laughing stocks of the league these last 5 seasons.
  3. Frankly Chief, this you are making a lot of leaps of faith. The biggest being that the Twins actually have a plan when it comes to the staff and pen.
  4. The guy was lights out the first half of the season, maybe the best RP in baseball, then suddenly over 8 appearances he looked awful (8.00+ ERA). Yeah, it's "possible" but it's pretty unlikely. Like 5% chance at best that was the case.
  5. He looked terrible for multiple appearances in July, it's not jumping to any unfair conclusions. Not to mention that the Twins desperately needed additional bullpen help at the time even if Perkins was 100%, which he clearly wasn't, whether injury, fatigue or mental, and they failed to do, well, much of anything. I know you are in tight and all with the Twins org from the bottom to the top, so I get why you don't want to criticize them and that's fine. But to say Bonnes is jumping to unfair conclusions is a bit overkill IMO.
  6. Do Hunter a favor and trade him to a contender, any contender, he had too good of a career to end it with this dumpster fire this second half.
  7. Why DL him now when you can just call up a 14th pitcher for the next few days?
  8. more of an adult swim guy myself
  9. Once again it looks like the Twins medical team tries to diagnose a problem way after the first sign of trouble. Why was this not looked at a week or two ago? At this rate, this 87 loss season will be more depressing than any of the 90 loss seasons preciding it.
  10. I have tickets for tomorrow's game. I'm not even going to go at this point. I'd much rather not spend 4 hours spending $12 on beer watching a snuff film then I would working. **** this team
  11. It's been a long time coming, but his refusal to address the bullpen in an even semi serious manner is the last straw. Please Terry, for the sake of the organization and the fan base at large, do the proper thing as a leader, a GM and a man. Take the cue from Doug Melvin and step down. Otherwise this team is looking at several more years of purgatory ahead.
  12. The current Vegas odds of the Yankees winning this game are +180, which is almost unthinkable when talking about a team down by 3 in the bottom of the 7th. That's how **** our pen and manager are at this point.
  13. getting out of this inning only tied will be a minor miracle
  14. His glove hand is shaking when it shows a close up of him.
  15. This isn't going to end well
  16. not only am I serious but there are several articles on the subject. They eventually stopped with the gestapo tactics once they roughed up an ignorant and innocent opposing teams fan.
  17. I remember in Yankee stadium when the ushers would refuse to let you leave the aisle/section during God bless America to take a piss or grab a beer. Because nothing says freedom like "sit your ass down and listen to this 1910 recording of Kate Smith singing!!!!!!!l"
  18. God Bless America is the worst of the "patriotic" songs. At least play America **** yeah or something catchy!
  19. God I love that ****ing kid! Sano for president'
  20. He's not worthless, he just shouldn't be starting 35% of your 30 games.
  21. yeah, I put it at 30% chance he scores, which is much higher then Robinson getting a hit in that situation.
