    Should be noted that Ryan never got the chance because HE stepped down from the GM role, right before the tough decisions re: Santana etc had to be made. Smith was truely dealt a losing hand from day one, and unfortunately took a lot of heat for it. As I mentioned in post 2, it's because of Smith that the Twins future looks bright (a guy like Sano will do that)

    Can't lose these games. 4-1 lead against a poor offense. Two runs due to bad wild pitches and the rest due to pointless walks by the bullpen. Gotta sweep Houston now. Gulp.

    3/4ths of the teams in the AL are in the hunt for the playoffs. I didn't know that was the standard of excellence these days.

    They are 69-63 because Sano has literally carried them the last few weeks. They are still like 60 games below .500 the last 5 years. Calling Ryan "good" is a disservice to the word. He is mediocre at best, and inept at worst at this stage of his career. Time to go.

    If this disaster of a bullpen wasn't enough to overcome Ryan's crippling conservative nature, I highly doubt a 16 year old who he would have to spend $3 million on would.

    God, I love this bullpen full of guys who can't strike out anyone to save their lives but will pass out walks like they are freaking candy.
