  3. He likely has what the medical community refers to as "Not a good pitcher" syndrome. Unfortunately "Not a good pitcher" syndrome has cost many a player a career, Shooter Hunt, Kyle Loshe and Sean Bergman to name a few.

  5. Forgot about Radcliff and Krivsky Gardy should stay.
  6. Why Dave St Peter you ask? Well for one, the abhorrent "save the Twins" commercial he green lit involving a child with cancer. Also, this:
  7. People who I think need to go ASAP: Terry Ryan Rob Antony David St Peter Those guys need to go, period, dot com, end of story, for I have spoken. The rest of the guys can be let go or kept depending on how well they mesh with the new GM.
  8. He wants everyone gone except for his buddy Glen Perkins

  11. Or, if you want to bring in a "familiar face" but someone with some outside vision, why not bring in Andy McPhail to head up everything? Give him a similar role that he has in Philly, let him hire a GM and the rest of the front office. I would be behind this 100%
  12. I will be very dissapointed if they go in house to replace Terry Ryan. While the GM is certainly the fall guy, we shouldn't be so quick to let Antony, Goin and crew off the hook as well for the Twins overall failures over the past 5 or so seasons. (Note: Over the past 5 seasons the Twins have the 2nd worst record overall in the MLB, I don't know how anyone can say with a straight face that those results indicate anything else other than failure) Other than the Park signing and the Jepsen trade can anyone point to any "good" moves this team has made at the major league level over the past several years? For all the talk of how the Twins are super into analytics etc can anyone point to any proof of this in any of their signings? Why is Casey Fien being signed as the sole "savoir" of the bullpen prior to this season? Why did they think putting Sano in RF was anything but a terrible idea? Why did they think that giving Milone a rotation spot over Duffey was a great idea? Why did they think they needed to extend Hughes after what was clearly a career season that wasn't in line with his career numbers at all? Why did they think they needed to extend Suzuki at his absolute high point when everything pointed to regression to the mean? Why do they refuse to spend money on bullpen arms, when bullpens are becoming more and more important each year? Now perhaps Goin, Antony etc have completely different opinions on all of these moves and TR is just shooting them down 99 times out of a 100, but I wouldn't bet on that. The whole front office has been together far too long and are stuck in their ways far too much, the minute they went to a guy with a bit of a different approach (Bill Smith) they gave him next to zero rope and replaced him quickly (back to the old regime) Again, over the last 5 years the Twins have the 2nd worst overall record in baseball, they have the 2nd worst record in MLB this year. This org is sorely in need of new blood, not only for the GM role, but for some of the other leadership roles in the front office as well. The front office has failed, it's time for them to be held accountable.
  13. Plouffe would be an absolute disaster in RF. He possibly would be even worse than Sano.
  14. Not sure TR has the patience for Twinsdaily to load on his computer, rumor has it he is still on 28.8 dial up AOL internet. However the good news is that because he found a taker for Fien's contract, the Pohlads promised him an upgrade to 56 kbs! As far as surfing Twinsdaily on the phone? I don't think TR is able to do that as well. http://www.kayofm.com/pics/Feeds/Articles/2016224/1621546/OldCellphoneKAYO.jpg
  15. The caps were just unlucky that they ran into a Pittsburgh team that got white hot at the exact right time of the season. Poor Ovi
  16. Captain Briggs: I ought to bust your ass down to traffic. Or better yet, kick it off the force! You're a dinosaur, Callahan. Your ideas don't fit today. If only Terry Ryan was as awesome as Dirty Harry though
  17. If the Twins fire Ryan (Which they should do) they absolutely, positively, no doubt about it, 100% lock of the century, need to go outside the organization to bring in some overdue, and sorely needed new blood/outside thinking. Antony, Goin etc are all solid baseball minds, and perhaps someday they will all get and deserve a GM type role, but it absolutely should not be with the Twins. It has been 25 years since the Twins sniffed a world series appearance, at some point you need to shake things up completely. The time is now (or after this 90 loss season) hiring Ryan's right hand man is not the answer.
  18. How many playoff series did he win? (one) How many playoff games have the Twins won in the past 12 years? (zero) Winning a division that went between terrible and mediocre isn't some grand accomplishment in mine or many other folks books. Besides, that as you mentioned was "the past" I ask you how have the Twins done since he came back as GM? Worst record in baseball? Check. On pace for 90+ losses in every season but one? Check. Zero playoff wins/appearances? Check.
  19. What would we have TR do? 1. Address the disaster that is the bullpen not only this offseason, but the last two off-seasons and seasons prior. 2. In regards to a "veteran CF", we had a perfectly solid defensive CF who was coming off a season that showed some offensive upside as well in Aaron Hicks, instead of trading him for a backup Catcher who has hit .070 and has played terribly behind the dish, perhaps we should have held onto him a bit longer. (Note: Hicks got off to a brutal start, but suddenly has come alive recently with a .900 OPS in his last ten games....while playing gold glove OF D) 3. Instead of signing, then resigning (Hughes) and overpaying for mediocre middle/back end of the rotation arms like Nolasco, Hughes and Santana, perhaps he could have used even a smidge of that money to fix the bullpen, the catcher position, the OF position etc in the meantime. OR, OR, OR....sign an actual front of the rotation type pitcher! I don't "hate" TR, that is an easy lazy argument to make of course though, the reality is that since he has been back he has pretty much failed in every signing, trade, etc other than the Park signing.
  20. But can we connect TR's failures to the lack of success his teams have had under his leadership overall? (One playoff series win in 18 seasons, trending towards 4 90 loss seasons in 5 seasons since he has come back?)
