Brett Lawrie has been suspended four games for spiking his helmet at home plate umpire Bill Miller. The incident happened Tuesday night after Miller made back-to-back questionable strike calls in the ninth inning of a one-run game. Lawrie is appealing and is in the starting lineup Wednesday against the Yankees. Source: Shi Davidi on Twitter

Lonnie Chisenhall was placed on the 7-day disabled list with Triple-A Columbus due to a strained calf. Chisenhall suffered the injury during Saturday's game. The 23-year-old third baseman is hitting .326/.351/.562 with four homers, 12 RBI and a .913 OPS over his first 94 plate appearances this season at the Triple-A level. Jack Hannahan is off to a strong start this season, but Chisenhall figures to be an option for a promotion at some point this summer. Apr 30 - 4:17 PM Source: Nick Camino on Twitter

According to ESPN's Buster Olney, the Nationals still expect prospect infielder Anthony Rendon (ankle) to play in July or August. Rendon appeared in just two games with High-A Potomac before suffering a partial fracture in his left ankle last month. The 21-year-old recently said in an interview with the Houston Chronicle that he is likely done for the season, but the Nationals are optimistic he still has a shot to make it back. Twins sent Matt Maloney outright to Triple-A Rochester. Maloney cleared waivers after being designated for assignment earlier this week. He posted a 8.18 ERA in nine appearances with the Twins and will accept a role as organizational depth -
