  1. If the Twins can't afford to keep payroll near 100M there is only going to be bad times for the Twins.
  2. Why is Greinke, Sanchez or Jackson a risk?
  3. The Twins simply can't take a risk, but the taxpayers can.
  4. Dodgers general manager Ned Colletti said Monday that the club could explore a contract extension with left-hander Clayton Kershaw in the coming weeks. Colletti was asked the question at the press conference for left-hander Hyun-Jin Ryu. Kershaw is owed $11 million next season and remains under team control through 2014, so there's not a huge sense of urgency to get a deal done right away, but Zack Greinke's six-year, $147 million contract would likely function as the benchmark for any talks. He could top $200 million when it's all said and done. Source: Dylan Hernandez on Twitter
  5. And I agree with you. I just don't think Greinke would have been a good idea. The Twins should be targeting mid-tier guys, not bidding against the Yankees, Dodgers, and Cubs of the world. If you bid against the big boys then you have something they want to and you can compete and trade with them too.
  6. If I were Gardy I would say stick it!
  7. but you don't have Marcum, you got Black burn instead.
  8. Mike is right on, but they won't do it, they will wait until all the fans are gone first.
  9. Shields will be a 20 game winner, The Twins just plain suck, they won't spend the money.
  10. Great trade for both teams, and there is still a player to be named.
  11. The price just went up on FA pitchers. Now the big market teams will make there bids. It's over for the Twins the fat lady is singing.
  12. The Twins should only be this good.
  13. The Twins could have sign Zack, that would have gave them just two players over 10M in 2014. Now we will have just one and 2 more 100 loss seasons. It's just to bad that a Twins fans have to put up with this.
  14. ESPN's Jim Bowden reports that if the Dodgers are unable to sign Ryu Hyun-Jin, they'll shift their attention to Anibal Sanchez. Even after agreeing to terms with the top free agent pitcher on the market, it appears the Dodgers might go after arguably the second-best hurler. Sanchez is said to be looking for a six-year deal in the $90 million range, and if anyone is willing to give him that much, it's probably the Dodgers.
  15. It's all over for another two years, just let Pohlads keep there money, and take Ryan out and shoot him, he didn't get the job done.
  16. It's over Twins will suck another two years now.
  17. Screw the Doyers!
  18. Jon Heyman of CBS Sports reports that the Dodgers and free agent right-hander Zack Greinke have reached agreement on a six-year, $147 million contract. It's only pending a physical. The $24.5 million average annual value of Greinke's new deal is the richest any pitcher has ever received. The Dodgers' 2013 payroll now sits over $225 million, making it the highest in MLB history. Greinke will slot in as the No. 2 starter in Los Angeles, behind staff ace Clayton Kerhsaw. Related: Dodgers Source: Jon Heyman on Twitter

  20. According to Ken Rosenthal of FOX Sports, the Rangers remain interested in trading for Justin Upton, despite missing out on signing Zack Greinke. With Greinke likely headed to the Dodgers, it appears that acquiring Upton has become general manager Jon Daniels' top priority. It's also plausible that if the Rangers decide to stand pat on their rotation, they could afford to trade for Upton and still re-sign Josh Hamilton. Related: Rangers Source: Ken Rosenthal on Twitter
  21. According to Dylan Hernandez of the Los Angeles Times, the Dodgers are nearing a six-year, $145 million contract with free agent right-hander Zack Greinke. The Dodgers have long been considered the favorite in the Greinke sweepstakes, but this is the first progress we've heard toward an actual signed agreement. There's still work to be done, but it sounds like there could be an official announcement at some point Saturday night. The Dodgers were known to be bidding against the Rangers. Anaheim bowed out of the hunt earlier this week. Related: Dodgers, Rangers Source: Dylan Hernandez on Twitter GET ON IT RYAN
  22. Rockies signed RHP Jeff Manship to a minor league contract. Manship was limited to 12 games with the Twins last season, but posted a 2.91 ERA in 80-plus innings at the Triple-A level. The deal is expected to include an invite to spring training. Nov 23 - 9:22 AM DON'T LOOK LIKE YESTERDAY TO ME!
  23. That minor league hype gets you no place but a laugh.
  24. This post just make me mad. Without out Joe the Twins would have no payroll left. I would never watch another game.
  25. Why would Bourn & Hamilton want to come to mn? So you can trade them? Get real, that is why they got agents!
