  1. Wasn't able to check on the game progress until now. Saw this, figured I'd be tuning in to an 8-0 deficit.
  2. http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-2WKbH2fB298/T66M3GEqmCI/AAAAAAAABJ4/b5sxRzzeXes/s1600/clint-eastwood-nodding.gif Them, and sons, are the toughest to handle.
  3. Hey guys. Just got back from my afternoon trek in the Himalayas, so I've been out of Internet reach for a while. What's new?
  4. In response to the several posts that followed this, can I please point out that the notion of the front office worrying excessively about the players' feelings was started as a hypothetical, with satire at its heart, and does not need to be debated on its own merits?
  5. HIghly ranked prospects won't cover the 2-3 year gap if they are currently in Elizabethton. Better hope Sano turns his self-evident tools into consistency as a third baseman, because there's nobody at high-A or above who can do a credible job to hold the fort. Beresford just doesn't have the bat. 29 year old retread Thomas Field just doesn't have the... resume. I think we'd better hang on to Nunez if we anticipate Sano's going to wash out in the field.
  6. Jason Tyner? Rick Sofield? Clete Thomas? Every AAAA outfielder ever?
  7. Nah, nah, you wait for the Indians to call you. That way you have the leverage to demand either cash OR a PTBNL.
  8. Or, watch for other signs of the coming apocalypse.
  9. Suzuki has no wheels whatsoever. Hard smash to third, and all that, but he wasn't even in the same zip code when the ball arrived at first.
  10. This game needs a warning label. http://orig13.deviantart.net/5665/f/2012/117/7/7/773e410e8791837311d2f4d1b55dddcc-d4xpxip.jpg
  11. "Buxton would have had that" in three... two...
  12. My post was a little too "meta" even for that thread. I should start a "Fun with Fun With Numbers" thread.
  13. Poor Gomes. Didn't look like a lot of contact, but the medical staff is sure looking at that leg. Or, is it the arm? / edit - collarbone, they're guessing now?
  14. Low scoring game on a Sunday afternoon. OK, Punch Line Game. Here's the punchline, someone set up the joke to match it: The third guy says: ‘I’m lonely. I wish my friends were back here.’
  15. Maybe Sano heard a coach tell him "make da throw", and misunderstood. / Chief's not here so somebody's got to step in and make some truly labored puns... "death row," I'm sayin'
  16. Awright, let's all try to be a little more careful about our jinx posts, 'K?
  17. No errors from Sano at third today, so Gibby's got that going for him, which is nice. http://i1.kym-cdn.com/entries/icons/square/000/014/499/spackler.JPG
  18. You had me frantically hitting Refresh trying to learn how the game was going.
  19. '"Hello," he lied.' / Supposedly said of a movie agent long ago
  20. I enjoy the frisson of guilt I feel when saying that word.
  21. For the 30-day period starting July 17, so far, he is a perfect 1-1 plus a walk.
